From the rooftop, I watched all the zombies fill into the store to devour Aaron. I felt bad for the kid, but it was kill or be killed now and I’d do anything I had to do to survive. Sometimes I wondered why I even bothered anymore, but then the moment of weakness passed.

In a not-so-distant future, the dead walk the earth, slowly taking over the land that once belonged to the living. Their bodies are broken and all thoughts have been erased from their minds -- except one: eat. The zombies walk aimlessly, desperately searching for human flesh, something which has become incredibly difficult to come by. They lurk around every corner, inside every building, and beneath every rundown car, always in large numbers and almost impossible to defeat. When one is destroyed, another emerges.

The process is endless.

In the future, life is tough. The world has changed -- this is something that Beth and Rose know all too well. Their daily lives involve scavenging for food, running for their lives, and shooting zombies in the head. Most of the human feelings they once had – the things that made them weak – have left their body. They focus only on survival. It's the only thing they have time for.

These girls live by one motto: trust no one. But, as most of us know, living without trust can only last for so long.

Z is a brilliant fan fiction of The Walking Dead series, allowing fans of the television show a whole new glimpse at some of the famous characters, including Rick, Daryl, Lori, and the oh-so-charming Shane. All of the wonderful things about the show – the action, zombies, and drama – can be found inside Z. It is a perfect accompaniment to the series.

Whether you are "Team Daryl" or "Team Shane", you are sure to find this story enjoyable!
