How do you nicely break-up with someone? Cause really, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do it in a way that leaves the dumped feeling happy and good. You can’t really say anything like, oh, I hope we stay friends, or it’s not you, it’s me because those lines have been used so much that they’ve become the douchebag thing to say. But really, sometimes that’s the best way to word something. What if it really isn’t them? What if you really do want to stay friends?

Every teenager would say that the teen years are the hardest part of growing up. You deal with gossip, rumors, drama, tacky parties, young love, and break ups. Just when you think you have everything figured out, another variable is thrown into the equation, and you have to rework the whole thing, and the answer suddenly isn’t as easy to get to as it was before. It’s true that there’s nothing easy about being a teenager, but it’s still an incredible part of life.

Boys & Things is a story that delves into the wild side of being a teenager, where nothing is what it seems and everything is taken for granted. Eleanor Jean Black – a girl who, deep down, has a heart of gold – suffers through many of the trials and tribulations of being a teenager, including bad break ups, promiscuous friends, and an overworked gossip mill.

Of course, my favorite thing about this story is the sarcastic narrator. Around every corner and through every twist of life, EJ always has something funny to say, which both alleviates the tension and adds to the humor of a story filled with drama.

Overall, Boys & Things is a fantastic original fiction, with the perfect mix of comedy, romance, and drama. I highly recommend that everyone give this story a shot – you won’t be disappointed.
