Cruel Greenie and Co.

Title: Cruel Greenie and Co.
Author: daikirai desu.
Rating: R
Type: Original Fiction

The tale of Cruel Greenie and Co. removes you from real life, with its ever-present struggles and inconceivable pains, and entrenches you into the confusing and yet incredibly entertaining life of Youngmin. Youngmin has recently moved from his home in Korea to Japan -- a move he doesn't seem too pleased about when he meets the two most flamboyant and destructive girls he has ever encountered.

Very little is learnt about the two girls, remaining a relative mystery up to the most recent chapter. We do learn that Bebe is an internet sensation and is the more talkative of the two, but no more or less pestilential than her best friend Tetsuko, who seems to be just a little bit darker than her friend, quiet and thoughtful... dangerous. The two of them together are foul-mouthed and beautiful. And they absolutely terrify Youngmin.

Daikirai desu.'s greatest asset in Cruel Greenie and Co. is most certainly her characters. Twisted and eerie as they may seem, Tetsu and Bebe almost jump out of your computer screen and demand to be heard. One moment Bebe might be watering the roses with cyanide and Tetsu is shoving frozen yogurt in Youngmin's face, and the next they are poisoning and murdering an old man they had lured back to the apartment. They are consistent, strong and above all, very intriguing.

Daikirai desu.'s use of suspense is eerily enthralling, which is cleverly revealed in short scenes that pack a punch, releasing the mystery of the story in tiny increments, leaving the reader on the edge of their seats. The chapters are relatively concise, ensuring only one fact about a character might slip, whether it be a name, fetish or just a sliver of the past. This keeps you hanging on to each update, reading and re-reading it to see if you missed anything else and positively craving the next update.

Bold characters, creative and slightly morbid situations, and a cute Korean boy will certainly lure you to this story, and leave you begging for more.

Eternal thanks to Fandango and tabula rasa. for editing!
