“Have you been drinking?” Lena sighed folding her arms across her chest her hazel coloured eyes scanning over him.

“No…” he lied, but ruined it when a chuckle burst from his lips. Lena sighed as she walked over to the male, “Helena please,” he began as the young woman leant over the him and began to feel around the chair for the bottle she knew he had hidden from her.

Unfortunately, alcoholism is a problem that many people face in their lifetime. Whether it is themselves or simply someone they know, nearly everyone is affected by alcohol or alcoholism in some way.

Never Tear Us Apart is a One Direction fan fiction that shows what alcoholism can do to two people. It can turn a happy couple into an unhappy one, and this story shows that. In Never Tear Us Apart, Zayn is a struggling alcohol. He attempts to hide it from Helena, although he never does a very good job. He tries desperately not to let it control his life, but it does time and time again.

This story is wonderfully written, though it can be a trigger for people who have dealt with alcoholism or someone who is an alcoholic. If this is something you're not comfortable with reading in a story, Never Tear Us Apart may not be a good story for you, but if you are comfortable reading it, it is a great read that paints a good picture of what alcoholism can be like for some.
