MM Review: Guilt

Title: Guilt
Author: catharsis.
Type: Fan Fiction
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Romance | Teen

Trust is a vital element in every relationship. Insecurity is one of the biggest challenges in every relationship. Understanding is something that each person should have to make the relationship work.

The author, catharsis., tapped into those three main elements and created a wonderful fan fiction from the online comic called Honeydew Syndrome.

The story started with Erik calling Samuel in the middle of the night due to his own insecurity and worries about his relationship with the other man. Samuel, however, seemed used to this kind of reaction from Erik and understandingly tried to make Erik feel better. The story itself is not that long and only has two chapters. However, through the short two chapters, I felt my heart melt at a certain scene that I personally found too cute to ignore.

Samuel kept having to convince Erik that he really did love the other man and how Erik was still sceptical about everything, especially since he believed that Samuel could not possibly have forgiven him for his past mistakes. I find Erik’s worries to be very relatable because I believe that everyone would feel insecure and uneasy in their relationships. The fact that Samuel was always so understanding made Erik feel like he did not deserve all the attention he got.

I only wish that the story was longer and that there was more backstory about these two main characters (seeing I had never read the manga), so I was not familiar with the characters used. Aside from that, I did enjoy reading this fiction and I think it has a lot of points to ponder even though it is short.

Special thanks to Goddess_Of_Muse and elixir for the edit.
