Title: We Are Broken

What happens when an expectant wife can't get her husband to realize his mistakes?

This wonderfully written one-shot by Rene92 follows the story of a couple dealing with alcoholism in their new marriage. At the start of the story, we meet the cute and cuddly newlyweds, Rylee and Matt Sanders. Just a year after the marriage, the couple finds themselves expecting their first child. To keep their growing family together, Rylee joins Matt on tour with his band Avenged Sevenfold.

In spite of their physical closeness, Rylee can't help but feel estranged from her husband. In an attempt to appeal to his better nature, she decides to write down her feelings, hoping that her words would help him realize he needs to stop his excessive drinking and partying. But in a strange twist, she discovers something about Matt that just might be worse.

In this amazing piece, the raw emotion you can sense from the characters as they confront each other about their failing relationship is portrayed perfectly. The detailed way the author describes Rylee's experience and Matt's reactions is done wonderfully well. And the fact that Rene92 chose to further explore their relationship in her full length story Two Pieces is a great added bonus.

I am so honored to review this piece which has become a personal favorite of mine. I know that any fan of A7X or stories that focus on established couples with real-life issues will love this story as well.
