MM Reviews: It Was a Transparent World

Author: Tipsy Returns
Type: Original Fiction
Genre: Mystery | Fantasy | Tragedy
Rating: PG-13

What happens after death is something that no one knows. There are many theories that give people comfort as they live, such as Heaven, and there are some ideas that scare people, like Hell. Some people believe that nothing happens - that you die and that's it. For others, they believe that death is not the end but are unsure about what will happen, and it's that uncertainty that makes many people scared about dying.

Tipsy Returns creates her own idea of what happens after death with It Was a Transparent World. While using familiar ideas, she puts a unique spin on them when telling the story of Myra Reed's journey after her untimely death. Accompanied by a figure named Night Scorpion, the author takes the readers on Myra's journey of getting used to the idea of being dead and not having a place in either Heaven or Hell.

The story isn't all focused on the dead, though, as her brother, Adam, who is in the world of the living, makes an appearance in several chapters. Although their paths are separate, the two mingle within the story and the reader is drawn in by what both are set to endure.

Currently active with twenty four chapters, It Was a Transparent World is a story that is easy to be sucked in with the short chapters which are easy to read while still being appealing enough to retain the reader's attention. This is a story for those that enjoy fiction that goes beyond the human life we know and delves straight into a world different to our own.
