If I Lose

Title: If I Lose.

This is not the first superhero fanfiction to involve a romance between one of the Avengers and an original character, but it is one of the only ones that I've had the pleasure of reading that takes that trope and makes it original. The story begins in the midst of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but continues on to a brand new universe quickly.

The last name Stark is not one associated with weakness, and Amy is no exception. Although the main character of If I Lose is not a canonical Avenger, she certainly fulfills all of the expectations and responsibilities of an Avenger as her budding potential romance with Steve Rogers develops.

These characters are no strangers to tragedy, and this incredible story by Albluerose does nothing to stop that consistent tragedy. There is action, and in action, there is death. War will always produce casualties.

The trope of a main character, typically somehow romantically involved, losing their memory has become incredibly popular, but once again, Albluerose does an incredible job of taking something that is established and making it unique.
