Harry and Lila are broken up.

He knows that, he really does, but he sees her all the time and it's difficult to move on, especially when he has to watch her flaunt her new relationship in front of him. But life goes on and he's faced with day after day of being unable to let Lila become a memory.

That changes when he meets the man who lives across the hall.

Show Me, Show Me is a beautifully written piece that depicts Harry's innermost thoughts and feelings during the tough process of getting over a relationship that has just ended. It's written in such a manner that the reader can almost feel how Harry's feeling, with his frantic thought process really being captured through loueh!'s writing style. From the beginning right the way to the end, loueh! manages to entice readers and keep their attention even if fanfiction isn't their forte. The piece reads like an original fiction, allowing those who normally wouldn't be interested in the fandom to enjoy the story without struggling.

Resting at just over six thousand words, Show Me, Show Me is a lengthy read for a one-shot, but that isn't a deterrent; in fact, each word flows naturally, drawing the reader more into Harry's thoughts as he encounters various interactions with Lila and the man who lives across the hall. The piece is also separated into small sections, giving it an easier read and allowing the words to slip away fast.

Not only was this piece brilliantly written, but it also ended up placing first in the Magazine's "Being Schooled" contest that was hosted in August. The lesson of the story is illuminated brilliantly in the piece and the characters were relatable - although not all were likeable - which is why it managed to secure first place. Even if the One Direction boys aren't your cup of tea, Show Me, Show Me allows those who aren't fans to enjoy a piece about two of the boys as if they were original characters born from loueh!'s own mind. This is a piece that should definitely be given a chance.

Special thanks to losing control and nearly witches. for editing.
