Whispers Unsaid

Why on earth was this man - the king of one of the most powerful kingdoms, my new master - smiling at me? Was he smiling because he was plotting ways to drive me into submission, to work me to the bone? Or was he smiling simply because he had something no other human being seemed to possess: a heart?

War affects many, and can destroy and merge areas of the world that would not otherwise be merged. However, when the dust settles and everything begins to slowly devolve into everyday living, it can be easy to lull yourself into a false sense of security. This false sense of security can be more dangerous than anything, and the people of Zachary Baker’s kingdom are about to find out that not everything is as it seems.

When Trinity Mason is taken from the wreckage that she used to call home and taken to King Zachary’s kingdom, she is tasked with looking after the newborn prince. When she spends an evening in the gardens with Prince Nicolas in her arms, she stumbles upon a terrifying discovery — the dead body of a young woman. After King Zachary brushes off the news without so much of a thought, the task of finding out what — or who — killed the poor woman is left to Trinity and the castle’s groundskeeper, Jonathan Seward. What they discover in their detective work, however, is a secret that could prove more deadly than anything.
