After a near death experience almost four years ago, Judith, who is now queen of Kopalnia and Leila, who is now a Dragon Ride and member of the Royal Guard, have settled into their new lives nicely. But when someone starts sending threats in the form of assassination attempts on the queen, the sisters must find out who is behind them before it is too late. Especially when they realize that the threats might not be from the brewing war outside of their country’s borders, but from someone inside the castle itself.

Dark Intent is a sequel story that focuses on the lives of Judith and Leila in their new home of Kopalnia. The story switches between the point of view of both sisters, with cassiopeia; writing one and hibernus writing the other. The transitions between the thoughts of the two sisters is flawless and gives the reader great insight into both characters. Creating a whole new world within a story can sometimes be difficult, but these two authors do it effortlessly, including dragons, magic, and talking trees, and of course, an “evil” women that spends her time trying to steal the affections of the king.
