MM Reviews: Sunflower and the Lost Cat

Author: Rosamarie
Type: Original Fiction
Genre: Adventure | Teen
Rating: PG-13

Cats are known to be inquisitive creatures: too nosy for their own good and unable to learn that, perhaps, straying too far from home might end up going terribly wrong for them. They're natural wanderers and like to explore places they often shouldn't be near – some being curious enough to investigate first and only contemplate an escape after they've found themselves stuck. They're often compared to babies and toddlers, the former in terms of their childlike curiosity towards new things and the latter in terms of their inability to remain idle and refrain from exploring new items.

Sunflower and the Lost Cat is a cute, summery story that starts with with a young girl named Sunflower basking in the solitude that the sun-bathed forest has provided her. That quiet time is interrupted by distant pleas for help, which she soon discovers are the cries of a distressed cat who has found itself a little out of its depth and in need of a rescue.

Unsurprisingly, the beauty of this piece and the wondrous start landed it in first place in the Mibba Magazine's "Summer Smiles" contest, which ran during the month of June. Full of beautiful descriptions and a perfect image of the summer, this piece is one that appeals to all those who enjoy a light and fun story. With an aptly named main character and a cat as her companion, the coming chapters are sure to bring a smile to the reader's face. As it is, the interaction between the two is enough to warm the heart of any pet lover.

Let Sunflower bring a smile to your face!
