Organs

Title: Organs
Type: Original Fiction

Rating: PG-13

It's amazing how much can be conveyed in a small amount of words. Drabbles are often powerful pieces of writing that lack the vast detail that a lengthier piece might contain but retains ever bit of effect and emotion one might find through descriptive detail. Though typically composed of just a hundred words, drabbles can also be longer or short depending on whether they follow the word count strictly.

Organs is a drabble that falls short of the one hundred word mark by just one word, and while the title might hint that it's a drabble about the body, it's actually the topic of the five senses and the organs that command them. It might seem like an odd topic choice but XXXataktoulaXXX has used the senses to convey love, giving it a very unique spin. The speaker goes one by one through the five organs that command the senses and states what part of their lover they take in.

While it reads like a poem, Organs is very much a drabble, one that can be read in a matter of moments and yet still be absorbed by the reader. The writing style only improves the piece and allows for an atmosphere of love to be created, no doubt achieving what the author originally set out to do.
