Up and Coming: Of Primrose and Orchids

The work of Jane Austen has a lot of allure to modern readers, purely due to the fact that it depicts a world entirely different to our own — prim and proper, with romance that revolves around courting. We often associate her work with women of the upper echelon, and they have a certain charm to them that many of us will try to recreate at some point in our writing careers. However, combining Jane Austen’s style with the concept of a show such as Peaky Blinders is a bold move, and one that certainly pays off for MiracleAligner in her story, Of Primrose and Orchids. I caught up with her to find out a little more about her unusual and intriguing story!

Tell us a little bit about Of Primrose and Orchids.

Of Primrose and Orchids is a Peaky Blinders fanfic featuring Michael Gray and my protagonist Nadia. It’s essentially a romance and drama based around the 1920's involving gangsters, violence, and a hint of tragedy.

What was the inspiration behind Of Primrose and Orchids?

Peaky Blinders is one of my all time favorite TV shows, but lately I've also been reading a lot of Jane Austen's work, so naturally I just blended the two concepts together and ran with it.

How long have you been writing Of Primrose and Orchids?

The concept had been in the works for a while, but I didn't post it on Mibba until July 6th of this year.

Do you have any other stories that you think people might enjoy?

If you enjoy reading Peaky Blinders fanfics I have several others, but my personal favorite is The Devil's Resting Place.

What is your favourite thing about Mibba?

I've always admired the love shared within our writing community. There are so many talented writers on this website and they're always helping ensure we ourselves grow as writers

Do you have any favourite stories on Mibba?

Golden by Fontaine and Just Words by Simply Ace. Both are phenomenal authors and their way with words is quite extraordinary.

What would you like to say to anybody who reads your stories?

Personally, I want to thank everyone who's ever read my stories and supported me in their own way. If it wasn't for my readers, I'm sure I wouldn't be as passionate as I am with my stories as I am now.

And finally, if you were trapped on a desert island with only three items, what three items would you choose and why?

I'd probably bring a book about survival because I want to live, an iPod that's solar powered because I'd go insane without my tunes, and probably pictures of my family 'cause I'm sure I'd miss them.

Special thanks to losing control. and Audrey T for editing!
