“I didn’t know anything about having my feet cemented to the ground. I was always moving, whether it was from Ocala to Albany, or my feet running to the beat of nothing at all, or just my mind racing at fifty miles an hour with no end in sight.

I didn’t know anything at all.”

Childhood can sometimes be difficult. Between school, homework, after-school activities and hormones beginning to rage around, it can be almost impossible for children and teenagers to have a spare moment to themselves. Some find themselves with additional difficulties added in, and it can almost seem like the cycle will never end.

Take Alana Quinn, for example. After her brother is killed in a freak football accident, she and her mother — all that remains of her broken family — spend years flitting from place to place, never settling, always the ‘new girl’ at school. This is the norm for Alana, at least right up until her mother decides to settle them in Woodward, Nebraska.

As the helm of her senior school career takes off, Alana finds herself suddenly rooted down in Woodward High, the local school. Determined to make a name for herself and fit in, she quickly assimilates into the class. However a chance encounter with the skin of Crispy, the school’s ill-fated mascot, permanently changes the way that her school career will go — for good.

A unique and refreshing addition to Mibba’s story section, Who Knows, Who Cares deals with something that almost everybody can relate to — school life. Whether you were like Alana and joined the sports teams as a mascot or not, you’re bound to find something to relate to. With an air of finesse and a dynamic storyline, southpaw has captured the very essence of what it means to be a teenager in the ever-changing world of high school. The relatable outlook on school life sits completed at just under 80,000 words, and is a story that readers can really get their teeth sunk into.

If you’re looking for something substantial to read that’ll have you laughing, cursing and crying with every coming chapter, then look no further than Who Knows, Who Cares.
