This week's featured contests focus on bands, with one being a battle of a British group vs K-pop, another requesting you to use a song from a band as inspiration, and the final one involving a variety of music.

One Direction vs. K-Pop

daisuki desu. is pitting the boy group One Direction against the genre of K-pop in her One Direction vs. K-Pop contest, and in a unusual way, too! What she is doing with the contest is having two categories: One Direction and K-Pop. In both of the categories there will be a first, second and third place winner with the two first place winners' entries being re-judged on their content to see which of the two is the ultimate winner and "reigns supreme", as states in the prizes for the ultimate first place entry. As if this wasn't enough, she's also allowing each user to submit a maximum of five entries into either of the categories which means that each user is allowed to submit a One Direction entry as well as a K-Pop entry!

Just Another Songfic Contest

We all know that contest where the host puts their iPod on shuffle and sends those who enter a song. They're simple enough to do and are always popular when it comes to Mibba, so DreamerHarlotSinner's contest isn't much different! However, she gives two ways of obtaining a song: first the conventional way of her shuffling her iPod and sending the user a random song, but the second way is her allowing the user to choose from a list of bands which artist they wish to have their song from before she sends them a randomly chosen song by said artist. Then all that's required is that they listen to the song and write something that's inspired by the lyrics, music or even both! To enter, just head to the thread and drop a comment to the host saying that you're interested in joining and she'll get back to you!

Working with a Variety of Music

Yet another contest based on songs but GreenEyedMoon has changed it up a bit with a twist. Listed for the contest are seven options that have different bands listed under each option. Users are required to pick at least two of the bands that are listed from which she would then send them a song from each of the artists. A clear rule for this contest is that each band's song has to be a separate entry in order for it to count which makes it more challenging to users as they have to submit a minimum of two entries for this contest.
