How would you summarize Enter My World?

If I were to summarize the poem, I would say that it's about feeling as though you are existing but you are not living, you are so filled with pain, anger and whatever else that you lose sight of the beauty in the world. The idea of spilling the secrets to someone is in essence a last attempt for being saved.

How did you choose the title for it?

I am so bad at finding titles for my poems!! I always just write them and later when I try to post them I think "Oh no, now I need a title!" For this one, I just reread over the words and chose a title i thought fit the best. Enter my World was ideal because in essence the character of the poem is inviting you into her mind to discover everything she hides.

What inspired you to write this poem?

That's a toughie. Without going into too much detail, I based this poem a lot on the way I generally feel. This poem to me is about feeling as though nothing you do will change or take away the pit of sorrow you have inside you, and the idea of telling someone these secrets locked within is in essence a symbol of clinging onto a tiny piece of hope for acceptance and help.

What was your favorite thing about writing Enter My World?

I always enjoy writing, whether I necessarily like what I come up with or not. My favourite part of writing Enter My World would probably be just allowing myself to clear all other thoughts and write whatever came to mind. I didn't set out to write this poem, I set out to begin a fresh story, but this came out, and overall I'm pretty happy it did.

When writing, do you have any rituals you follow?

Depending on the type of story, scene, or poem I am setting out to write, I like to put on a coinciding artist. For example, if I were to set out to write a heartbreak poem/story/scene, I would play Adele, Birdy, Ed Sheeran, etc. Whereas if I were to write about anger or pain, I will generally play Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine, Evanescence, etc.

Is there anything you would like to say to anyone who reads your poem?

First off, thank you for taking the time to even look over what I have written. I really appreciate it. (That goes with anything I post up on here :) ) Please feel free to leave a comment whether you like or dislike my writing, because I am always trying to improve. For this particular poem, if you find yourself feeling this way, just know you are never alone.
