Featured: Mibba's "Being Schooled" Contest Winners

To keep in line with August’s Magazine theme of back to school, our Magazine contest last month was all about being schooled! Mibbians who decided to take part in the challenge were asked to write about a character who had been schooled — effectively, the character has to be taught a lesson by another character, usually in a humiliating manner. Although the contest this month only received two completed entries, the quality was very high as always! It was incredibly difficult to pick the winner between these incredible pieces, but the results are finally in.

Our first place winner for August is loueh! with their amazing entry, Show Me, Show Me. In the aftermath of his breakup with ex-girlfriend, Lila, Harry Styles finds himself seeing her everywhere, the girl herself teasing him by parading around with her new boyfriend. Harry finds it difficult to move on — that is, however, until he meets the boy across the hall whose mail he keeps receiving. What follows is a discovery of something more, and a lesson to be learned by Lila.

Coming up very close behind in second place is Only Say My Name by tabula rasa.. This story follows a relationship that could only be described as poisonous — he messes around behind her back, yet she continues to come back every time. However, one day, she decides that things need to be different, and what follows will teach him a lesson that he’ll never forget.

Sometimes teaching people a lesson can be made more difficult if you have feelings for the person, but it can also be the best thing to do for yourself and your own peace of mind. Through both of these fantastic entries, Mibbians have shown that they wholeheartedly understand this, and have written beautiful pieces that convey this theme incredibly well. Whether you’re looking to read fanfiction or original, both of the entries that were included in this month’s contest are definitely worth checking out!
