  • Yeah, if people make judgmental comments, about the way i dress or the type of music i like, I'm just like 'So?'.
But I hate it when people look down on me because of my own choices, it's not like it affects them, why should they care?

  • Sometimes people make mistakes and it takes them a while to realize and maybe they just want to make it up to you.

In my opinion the guy seems to be afraid of actually being in a relationship so he uses "FWB" as a front. Plus if all he wants is to be friends with benefits then he will want sex and if you are still a virgin and he is as big of a douche as he sounds then you def don't want to lose it to him.

    I hope I helped :]

  • I find, as someone who listens to metal and reading other people's opinions on music, that people who are into heavy metal and death metal etc can be very judgmental, even to our own.
When I'm around people I don't know, if they're the stereotypical metalhead, wearing all black, lots of piercings, tattoos etc, I can feel them looking down on me because I don't dress like one of them, which makes me seem like I don't listen to metal. I wear regular clothes, no tattoos, no band t-shirts, the only things that may tie my appearance to my music choice is the Doc Martins I live in and my lip piercing.
I used to have vivid red hair, but I stopped dying it 'cause I could feel how much it was damaging my hair, and I don't wear a lot of makeup either.

I even surprised a few friends when they found out what music I liked when i was getting to know them , they looked at me, thinking I was joking, looked through my ipod and were like 'welcome to the darkside'.

When I'm traveling I don't really care what kind of music I'm listening to, country, rap, pop, rock, metal, it doesn't bother me at all, I just sit back and look out the window (or fall asleep) and the music contributes to the atmosphere.

My friend and I are planning to take a gap year at one point, hire a tour bus or something and drive down America, I've told her that when were in a hot dry place with dusty dirt everywhere and tumbleweed strolling across the road, we have to put on country music, lol.

  • I admit that sometimes I don't give some music a chance, if I don't like the artist as a person, then I don't want to like their music so i don't go in with an open mind.
I read 'Metal hammer' magazine and a few issues ago there was an article on a band i'd never heard of, they're newish, but reading the article and how the band described their own music i was a little put off by it. One of their songs was on the free CD that comes with every issue, and when i was listening to the CD I found that i really liked their music even though it's so different to my usual stuff.
Also I like Megadeth, but I dislike dave Mustane, I liked Megadeth before I encountered an interview with Dave in it, but because I don't like him as a person, it's made me reluctant to buy Megadeth's newer stuff.

Yeah, I have depression and since before i remember it's been crescendoing, last year was the worst and I went though this whole dark patch and got stuck there for a while, music helped me get though it, escape for a while just to forget the world for a few odd moments. Admittedly I'm not fully over it now, but there are a few songs that I can't listen to now because it reminds me too much of that stage and resurfaces all the darkness.

I find that it's fairly easy to have memories attached with music, and when you listen to the tracks again it's like being brought back to that time.

  • yeah, that attitude towards music pisses me off. I acutally have a friend who likes the jonas brothers, i give her shit for it all the time, firstly because I dislike their music, i dislike them as people and thirdly I dislike all their little teenie fans. Even though I give her so much shit, she doesn't stop liking them, i admire the fact that she sticks with them even though all her friends are disgusted with her. (don't worry, she does like better stuff).

Yeah, Zack and Mike Portnoy also got Jimmy tattoos but on their arms, I can't remember if Brian or Johnny did though.

I'm definitely jealous of all the people who got to see them live, especially the ones who got to see them more than once. They did a show in Dublin last year, and my friend and I were very close to getting a plane across seeing the show, staying in a hotel for a night then flying back without telling our parents. We would have done it too if both of us hadn't been in a financially sticky place.

There was one stage in my life when people would think I was odd because i didn't used to listen to music, it was because i could never find stuff i liked. people used to try and get me to listen to the stuff they liked; pop, R&B, dance, I just never liked any of it (maybe aside form the odd song here and there) but it wasn't until I was introduced to system of a down, good charlotte, linkin park, 30 seconds to mars that i started to find stuff i liked. Actually the only one of those i still listen to is System, I kind of got a little bored of the others, I generally like the heavier stuff more now.

People like the Jonas Bothers, Miley Cyrus etc, they strike me as temporary and dispensable. It's not entirely to do with my dislike of their music or fans, they're just the kind of people who are centre of attention for a few years, then all of a sudden some newer, younger, cuter person comes along and all the preadolescent/ young teens go crazy over them.

  • Of course not, Matt now has his face on his hand for starters, but the newest album is very Jimmy-inspired as you can imagine, 'cause Jimmy wrote loads of material before he died. Actually i read an interview where the interviewer got to listen to one of Jimmy's demos. It made me cry because it quoted three lines which read:

"I hope you’ll find your own way when I’m not with you"

then later on in the song he sang

"I think you’ll find your own way when I’m not with you"

and near the end he sang

"I know you’ll find your own way when I’m not with you."

It was so beautiful and melancholy and even reading it now makes me upset. I still haven't registered that he's gone, I don't quite believe it, I mean I know he is, but i never really fully believe it.

I have one friend who doesn't really like their music, but i made her watch one video with the Rev in it and she instantly liked them as people. My friend and I get a little crazy sometimes, that's why i made her watch him first, she has a similar appeal. The first time we hung out after he died, we were walking around the streets at about 2am laughing (me; crying a little) jumping (and running away from this gang of guys who decided to chase us and give us the adrenaline rush of our lives) and we were doing Jimmy quotes too. It was sad :(

My Ex got to meet Jimmy, stupid asshole, he only went to see them for the sake of seeing them, I don't think he's that into their music, but he told me he got to meet him and had a conversation with him, said he was really nice.

  • I hope that for decades people will aspire to achieve half of what he did, not only was he a musical genius, he was one of the most kind-hearted people. Even though many of us will never get to meet him personally, we all know, from what we have seen and from other people how intellectual, hilarious and harmless he was.

  • When I found out he had died, my friend from Ireland was over and I was just brushing my teeth after breakfast and i heard my phone ringing, my friend brought it over to me and when i answered my other friend told me the news. I thought it was a joke first of all, because no one in my friend group really likes A7X that much. But i cried for like 3 hours, and my friend started crying purely because i was.
When she managed to stop, and I started to talk, i looked it up online to make sure, then i said something like 'But he had so much to live for' then she started crying again.

I'm glad that he was recognised for his talent, even if he wasn't there to receive the award himself.
    April 11th, 2010 at 09:41pm
  • Yeah thats what he told me. It's fine with me honestly. I trust him. :]
