I believe that my last statement has everything to do with all that I said. Your heart -- your empathy and sympathy for other human beings -- is going to want to save the world. But your brain -- your logic and reason -- tells you that it is near impossible for, indeed, reasons beyond your control.

You're right, however, in saying that since people have a mentality that nothing can be done to change things, then it will take longer to reach the goal of the eradication of world hunger or the goal of world peace. But you must see how illogical those goals are. World peace will not happen until there ceases to be money. And money is everything.

You yourself proposed that everyone give five dollars for the cause of ending world hunger. But how would this money be gathered? Who would gather it? What would be their salary (because, after all, most people will not work for free...at least, not for an extended period of time)? Who would produce the food for the charity? How much would they charge? What standards would be used to determine who gets the food (because there are different stages of starvation)? How would the food be transported and distributed?
That five dollars would be spent before the food even got into the same country as those who needed it. Which is why I say the results of giving five dollars are so indirect and that the money (whether in the form of currency, food, or clothes) would be better placed in the hands of a homeless person or a local person struggling to pay for their cancer treatments.

Also, you are right when you say that many Americans have more than enough food. But not all do. In fact, according to this site http://library.thinkquest.org/C002291/high/present/stats.htm, one in eight American children go to bed hungry while one in twelve worldwide (that's [i]including[/i] the U.S.) suffer from malnourishment. That's only a difference of four people, which considering the population of the world, is pretty significant. Also, some of the people in America who are considered "well-fed" possibly aren't. Just because they scrape by by themselves or receive assistance in the form of food stamps does [i]not[/i] mean that they receive adequately nutritional meals. Because, after all, it's far easier to feed children chips than it is to feed them vegetables. Not only because of the taste, but also because they're cheaper and can stretch the money farther.

I believe your consideration for the stomachs of the world is amirable, but I also believe that it is unreasonable for the reasons I have mentioned above. Also, if you truly wish to acheive your goal, I think you should start now because, if for some reason you could start this charity (and I really hope you can, believe me), it will still take several years, if not decades, for it to be successful, and to put it bluntly, you have already wasted two of your estimated eight decades of living just by growing up.

well shit. I was looking at "my choices" on your profile and I realized I'm on it. First I have to say thank you. Next that this has definitely made my day- no life. Third, I'm freakin happy as a bunny. Last I'm so flippin addicted to Calming Pro words can not describe my love for it. Well I'm pretty sure they could but there is just so many.

There is no reason for you to be swearing at me. All I did was say that I did correct it. I used Word, Google Docs, and had my aunt look it over. I also said that if you dont like my writing you dont have to read it. That is no reason to start swearing or to get all irate. Please talk to me when ur rational, because right now, your not.

Everyone tells mom she's got to stop saying yes to my sister, but she never does. My sister puts too much pressure on my mom, and my mom's pretty close to a heart attack. She's had mini heart attacks before, and she's got diabetes.

I try, though. It's impossible to get through to my sister, so we've all given up. My mom never said no to her, so it's shit.

I think, with every family, when there's more than one child, one of them always has the attention. It sucks that way. I wish my sister would grow up and face the facts, but she hasn't. I just want her to understand that she's going to baby jail if she does something illegal and the cops catch her. She got away twice before, but this time, the cops said she was going straight to jail next time.
