  • I hate public speaking because I always get nervous and mess up whatever it is I'm trying to say. I'm better at it now than I was when I was 15, but I still don't enjoy it. It was a required credit in high school, and I was told it was a required credit for the basic curriculum. I would have much rather taken a foreign language last year than a speech class.

Like I said, the choice is ultimately up to you. I enjoyed the AP classes I took, and I've never been a slacking student and never had a problem with them. I never took anything like the Dual Credit classes I mentioned, so I can't really help you there. But, if you can, ask any friends or acquaintances that are taking these college level classes. I know how unfun clueless advisors are.

  • Yeah, Speech as in publich speaking. I hate making speeches, so a month was a much nicer time than four or five.

In my high school, we had AP classes (advanced placement) and DC classes (Dual Credit). AP classes were usually only a year ahead, so I took a sophomore English class when I was a freshman and a college level English class when I was a senior. The AP classes could only be transferred as college credits if you made a grade between 3 and 5 on the AP exam at the end of the year. DC classes weren't necessarily college level classes, but they were a bit different than AP classes and you only had to pass the class to gain college credit. I never took DC classes, but I wish I had just so I'd be a little ahead now.

I would suggest making a list of colleges/universities you'd like to apply to later on (you don't have to stick with them, though) and see what sort of classes will transfer to which schools. You could talk to your high school advisor about it, they should have some clue about what the best choice would be. On the other hand, I took a Speech class my first semester of college, the advisor I saw set me up with that one, and it turns out the class doesn't transfer well into the universities as I've looked at (except as an elective). But it's ultimately up to you. If you don't have to pay for your high school classes, take advantage.

  • Eh,I barley learned to tune it last year. aha.
I would have to tune it too.
it's like my ukulele my aunt's boyfriend wanted me to play a song so he can record me and show people and i was like "wait!i need to tune my ukulele again then."
and so i took like 10 mintues. [x
My music teacher is a perfectionist but she's my favorite teacher.
'cause she always makes jokes unlike the other strict teachers.
    I don't get ABC family.
    So I haven't watched it.
I still like watching that's so raven.
I'm in love with the show Dexter at the moment though.
Yeah, but I don't have time to watch it,'cause school is starting monday and i just came back from San Diego.
Goldfish have the attention span of 3 seconds.

  • I'm in college, so taking summer classes is actually a good thing for me (it was a good thing in high school too- a month of Speech class instead of five months is a good thing). The more credits I rack up now, the fewer I have to pay an ubsurd amount of money for when I transfer to a university to complete my degree. I don't drive, so my job options are very limited and none of them benefit me. It's frustrating though, having my parents nag about me being jobless.

  • I'm one of those people. I don't have a job, I didn't take any summer classes, and all of my friends are either out of state, staying in their college towns, or live on the other side of our hometown. I wonder what I'm doing all the time.

  • Gosh, isn't that the truth! I hate staying up late and sleeping in late, but my sleep pattern is so out of whack. Luckily, I have about three weeks to get it right before I head back to school.

  • I had to go back and see what I said, but I'm glad I could help. Growing up is tough. I wish I'd had someone to give me advice when I was younger, and I guess that's why I like to help as much as I can. You're welcome. I'm glad you could appreciate it; a lot of people don't. :)
