...Wow! the more I learn about different school systems around the country, the more amazed I am. I'd never really thought about how other countries dealt with all of that. I do still think that the American system is easier, but that could easily be just because I grew up with it. I mean, sure, the paperwork is ridiculous, and the deadlines are obnoxious, and our government is irritating with the way they deal out financial aid, but the tests are easy, and you're (almost) guaranteed a place in a University...s'long as you are willing to pay for it! xD
...But then, we're also overrun by people with degrees but no knowledge whatsoever. >.> A college degree means about the same as a high school degree did thirty years ago; you pretty much need one to get anywhere big. Which isn't fair at all. You're basically investing forty thousand dollars (or more) in the hopes you'll get a good enough job to pay it all back. Nothing is guaranteed, though. Ick. :\
Ah, well. =]
Anyway, I still love your name! And I did check out your poem. I like it! I don't have a whole lot to say about it, constructive criticism-wise, or I'd have left you a comment. I mean... Ah, shucks, how do I say it? I don't like leaving comments unless I can say something important to help or encourage. I like your poem, I just don't have anything helpful to say. Does that make sense?
I added you to my Messenger list, by the way.
Anyway, I think I'm going to go read. A friend of mine lent me a book and I'm addicted. Bye!
Ahahaha! So you did, so you did! xD That second comment and then seeing the massive block of text underneath it made me laugh! I'm sorry that my comment won't be as long. I have to go to dinner here in a bit.
Words are...the most amazing thing ever. I hope to make a living out of it, if everything goes right. I'm not quite into the whole dictionary thing, but I do use the heck out of the Thesaurus! But that's just how I work. A list of one-word synonyms mean more to me than long definitions.
I'm the same way! Ha! If I don't have something like a book to entertain me, I go crazy, so whenever I go on trips, I always bring a few books along, as well!
Ah, yes! I've heard about your school system. Very different from ours, yes? Explain it to me in more detail? I'm always curious!
...Wow! You are a klutz! xD That's alright. I am, too. Not as bad as you, but a bit. My roommate is worse, though. xD
Your full name is so pretty! o.o Really, really pretty! I like it! -is jealous-
Umm... Yeah. I have a Facebook, but I'm really, really picky about giving it out to people, especially on the Internet. I'm sorry. :( But... Yahoo? Yeah. And Windows Live Messenger, as well.
Agh! Sorry this reply took so long. :\ I had this really long one all typed up, but then Mibba hiccupped and it was lost. I got mad and left. -sigh-
Anyway. Aren't big families awesome? My extended family was the old-time farm-type, what with having as many kids as possible to work the farm, so I have loads of relatives! Like...one of my mom's aunts had 16 kids. And my dad is one of 9, and my mom one of 6, so family reunions are always interesting! Ha!
That books sounds cool. :) I'll have to look it up, sometime.
Happy belated birthday, doggie! <3
Science? Do you like science? Me, not so much. Well, I liked it back in the good old days when learning about plate tectonics involved graham crackers and chocolate frosting! ;D But once they threw in all that math, it became not-so-fun, anymore. -sigh- Life was good when we were little! If only we knew...!
I just burned myself on the fireplace. :( I roasted my hand putting new logs on, and I nicked the metal with my finger. 'Tis quite painful.-sigh-
Oh, yeah! I left you a poem comment. :) And...yeah. People always used to sign letters, but with all of this instant technology, letter-writing has become a lost art. Sad, sad.
Plus, if I didn't, people would be going around calling me 'Elijah.' Can't have that, can we? ;]
This reply would've been longer if Mibba hadn't been stupid. :( I'm sorry.
That's alright. =] I apologize in advance, but it's two in the morning and I'm exhausted. Too tired to get up and get into bed, actually. ^.^
Anyway, that sounds like fun! :D It's too cold here for a barbeque of any kind. Go outside and your turn into a human popsicle. And Chemistry isn't fun at all; I don't blame you. ^^
We had some people out, some family friends--none of whom I know very well--, I got to watch a P!nk concert on TV, recorded from last year, and... Eh. Pretty good, overall. =]
Annnd...we'll see how long the new profile lasts. I just put it up, actually. Spent the last few hours on it. -yawns- It looks too busy, too me, and it hardly fits my personality. Whatever. It might look better in the morning. =)
Erm, I dunno what time it is for you, but I'mma wish you a "Good night!" anyway!
Eh, I'm pretty good. ^^ Lazy Tuesday. Not bad. Thanks for asking!
And I know what you mean, about the story-writing. I've started a few stories, loved the ideas, but then realized that putting them online gave me somewhat of a deadline for finishing them. Heh. My interest in them died quickly.
alright! we'l have some awesome pics on saee's bday....oh btw we're doin 2 theme parties...1 on 5th midnight which is cocktail n the other on 6th which is as decided as before....
Yes, I do write but this would be my very first try to finish one. Well, I have done attempts before but I get rid of it as soon as I am out of ideas. :)
