No, some of them aren't particularly good. 

I think - and this is entirely my opinion here - that a lot of them just use the hospital as a catalyst for one or the other or both to realise their feelings for the other, because they can't think of a realistic way to work it in otherwise. Because if Lou's got an eighty percent chance of not surviving then of course Harry will realise how much he loves him. And then you cue emotional, grief stricken Harry who has to be prised away from Lou's body because he just up and flatlined and the defibrillator's not reviving him.

And I have nothing against it but that whole scene's been done so many times it's become cliche, and not just in fanfiction.

I just realised I'm ranting at you. Sorry. 

haha no it wasn't just stating a pattern I've noticed.
And he has an ED I figured at some point he'd end up in some kind of hospital I just figured it'd be from Harry sending him to get help. :P

No, you hospitalising Lou makes sense, long term bulimia will land you in hospital. It's people who have him randomly collapse for no reason that irks me.

I wouldn't say it's bad. But I have a slight obsession at the moment and I've read quite a few and so many of them put Lou in hospital, sometimes for no real reason.
