It's cool because the farmer's markets here are open stall, outside types so I was skeptical. But these are proper
supermarket structures with air conditioning and everything. Shocked Our local one is every Sunday morning.

I just think if it were implemented in many places globally, it would be such a huge step towards curbing
    many negative things. Idealistically.

YES. Exactly. They're working around the problem and not tackling it full force, as I expected because people
(especially corporations) look out for the company and $$$$profit$$$$. Disgusting practices, some businesses. The world.

I love farmer's markets for that exact reason. Why would I go to the store for an orange from Latin America
that of course will be expensive when I can go grow (then pick one from my backyard) it or buy locally?
The price difference is so significant as a consumer. I consider it a privilege that I was able to go to the farmer's
market in Japan where my ma lives because it's affordable and trustworthy; the whole prefecture is there on the daily
and they're surely not going to be peddling around rotten, overpriced fruit & veg to their local people.

The nonexistent proportionality of it is so unfair. Facepalm It makes me upset when some people
who genuinely want to be healthy the right way, proper diet, overhaul their lifestyle and choices---
gets shot down and discouraged because of factors other than their peers and themselves
such as their income not being able to support the lifestyle. So they resort to cheap, fattening
food because $3 or something per pound of a vegetable is going to eat away at their grocery funds.

And of course it doesn't help that some people just refuse to give it a chance, just because it's healthy
    but that's another topic entirely.

Coffee I know, alas, I could have a healthier (and more enjoyable, I like healthy food like my fruits and veg)
lifestyle but then I'd be back to going with my ma and spending $100+ on groceries a few times a month. Well.

They wilt and mold really easily in the humidity here, it's not shocking. Sad
I had a fresh carton and within two days or three days(?) a fourth of it was moldy.
I just about had it then and there. Too livid to even say a word.

They cost so much, even in season because they're flown in and even then they're not fresh. Cry
Then there are the lush, air flown ones from Korea that are. . .I think at least $15-$20 which is just no.

You're going to, maybe when you're even more worldly than you already are.

I'm going to be a tiny Asian in the streets again. Scary. OMFG I am pretty hyper aware when I go to the cities
(since I don't live in one, not by any means) but it's nice to not know anyone. I don't know.

Thank you though, I like the memories I make in each place. Good & bad. I always say yes when my ma offers
we go to any museum or gallery or open market type thingy because they're somewhat nonexistent here.
And I am fascinated by it, such a lameface.
You know you need to move from your hometown when you see a basket of strawberries at a farmer's market
in the spring and a bouquet of sunflowers and you think you've found a holy grail.

I would love to, I know I've said that but. Well. I think I even made some very cringey, stereotypical
"leprechaun and luck of the Irish and rainbow pot of gold" type of joke in our convos.

    Oops

Really though, my mother and I have begged my dad for our family vacation to Europe. Anywhere in Europe,
specifically France but I willed them to also consider more towards the British Isles ~*~and beyond~*~ because.
Well. Puddings and haggis and apparently there's much to experience. Con Don't doubt that!

it and had a mutual attraction. Yes. Yes! Scooter

Naw. tehe Really though, now I can worry about other things like my college major and The Future.

And the fact that every now and then it crops up that "why doesn't she have a boyfriend?" and the speech.
My ma gave me a speech about allowing myself to fall in love, just unbelievable. One of my favourite
books is the Time Traveler's Wife. I write romance stories. I just haven't found anyone to write a story about in real life,
so to speak. Facepalm No rush!

That's great. Very Happy Seems like you've been keeping busy and healthy, how refreshing.

Really though, therapy helped a lot and finally telling my parents---mainly my ma though---about
what I've been dealing with as an angsty little adolescent kid. It was sad to see her face when I told
her how I had suicidal thoughts, amongst other negative "beliefs" but I didn't feel like a liar any more you know?
Now we're even closer and even my dad is a bit closer too.

Yeah, I'm just glad I was able to enroll again, the registration percentage doubled, I think? There are a lot
of people who are attending there now, graduating seniors from high school and others.

What have you been up to, if not writing?

Eh, same, just still have some dormant annoyance because they messed up mine, along with many other students', loans
and grants which prompted my mother to send a very wordy email to the person in charge. They responded quickly
and gave me a waiver to apply but it was so frustrating because the window of opportunity was sliced to bits
and I ended up with an awful schedule. The timing of the classes is awful. Facepalm

It's fine. My late response was due to me being ill for a few days. Had some anxiety, thought I was having another panic attack but it was a fever. But now I'm better, just got home from my first day back to uni.

Definitely. (: I've been much more stressed but also I have more freedom
so I can admit that I feel a bit confident in myself. I am less hesitant
and I can actually be more sure of what I do and say and think.

Ah. I see. We call it "work study" here, I think. I'm thinking of doing something
like that or a "real" job when I am more comfortable with my surroundings
and schoolwork. It's so different from high school; college is very fluid.

It definitely helps that I'm trying to be less pessimistic and more open to change.

Is work experience sort of like a job but an internship / training mixed into one?
I think you mentioned something like that, correct me if I'm really wrong on that.

I've been busy with college too. Not to mention so much has happened since
summer ended; I just went a couple of days ago to visit my mother in Japan.
Then when I got back I had missed school work and of course the day
I left was the same day as my friend's birthday party. Plus, my grandparents
went on vacation so that is pretty disheartening. :\ Too much going on.

Oh, and I haven't been doing anything too different besides being on
Mibba less and actually using my email for academic purposes.

But I am going out more to relieve my anxiety which is good.

    & you?
