Thanks for the comment! I think Joren's been an asshole for so long, we forgot that he can be semi-humane if he really tries. Of course, he REALLY was jerkish to Lina only after Cleon and Kairi showed up, so once they leave, he'll probably be nicer to her. Probably.... Or maybe not. :)

Haha, actually you're quite right. Joren's always been this..evil, he just hid it well from Cleon and Kairi, because with them, he was trying to be a good person worthy of their friendship. When he left them in Treachery's Symphony, he just started outwardly showing his true personality since they weren't around to keep him in check.

And don't worry about not having more to read. After Overture, I'm planning on at least 2 more books after it. We still have an entire war to fight :)

Yah, TP's Cleon was a readhead, although I think he had short hair versus my Cleon's longish-wavy hair.

The old Joren is back now that Cleon and Kairi have returned :) Well, not necessarily completely the old Joren. I mean he's been through a lot, so obviously he's changed since the last book, but I assume you're talking about him being nice and happy, right? If that's what you're hoping for, you'll be very disappointed, I'm sorry to say :( His life is going to change greatly, and he's never going to be that carefree kid he used to be. He has to grow up and embrace a harsher reality. You'll see what I'm talking about as Overture comes to an end (which won't be for a while!)

Yes! Another Tamora Pierce fan! She is my favorite author. :) I did steal the names for Cleon, Joren, and Numare (although it was Numair in TP's books) but any personality/physical similarities are purely coincidental. Although when I went back and reread the Daine books, I was horrified to see that Numair and Numare are almost identical... Both the most powerful mages, their magic is black in color, long hair in a ponytail. I might have accidentally subconsciously based Numare on Numair.. Whoops.....

And as embarrassed as I am to admit it, Cleon's appearance came from me mixing the hair of Todd (the redhead photographer from pokemon snap) and the body of Trunks (from Dragonball Z). Haha, of course my Cleon has evolved into a more natural, realistic appearance :P

When I first wrote Overture, Joren was this sweetheart and Lina absolutely adored him and he adored her. Needless to say, that was boring and cliche. I like this evil Joren better and I went back and completely rewrote the entire Book IV.

Thanks for the comment! Joren is a bit wonky in the head, but that's what makes him special! :) Guardian knows he's the hardest character to work with! It's like his personality keep changing and evolving every scene. I'm not sure if I'm literarily aloud to do that.... :P

Haha well I'm glad I could convert you to Mibba! It's pretty spiffy here, or at least well kept lol. Stalkerish is good though! As long you don't start asking me what I'm wearing or something, we're good ^_~ lol I hope you like Mibba though! =)
