That's the advantage of post rock, and I find it especially true with God Is An Astronaut and The Album Leaf. The songs on each album are structured like one massive song, the independent songs are merely small segments of the whole. Listen to just one or two song off one of their albums, it won't do it justice.

Short songs are too short, yeah. xD

    Awesome. :3

That's awesome. I'll add that to my list too then. ^^
With post rock too, it's so easy to get inspired off of it. I tend to get inspired from instrumental pieces far more often that songs with lots of lyrics though.

Some bands manage to be epic even with short songs though. That's post rock for you. God Is An Astronaut is extremely epic, but almost all of their songs are around 5 minutes long.

Yeah. I know what you mean, It was the same with The Album Leaf. They were the door into post rock for me, just as Queens of the Stone Age was for desert rock, and In Flames for metal.

And that's awesome. I'll be checking them out soon then. ^^

Yeah. So true. And yeah, longer songs make them more epic, thats true with every genre, not just with post and prog rock. Even punk bands can be epic if they make a really long song.

Same here, to a degree. There's a surprising amount of collaboration through post rock bands. I discovered Godspeed You! Black Emperor thanks to Thee Silver Mt. Zion, and Sigur Ros through The Album Leaf.

Stoner/Desert rock it's... have you ever heard Queens of the Stone Age? or Kyuss? Those would be the most well known of the bands in the "stoner" genre. Personally I like the genre a lot, but not nearly as much as post rock.

And that's awesome. I'll have to check that album out.

I've met a total of... perhaps 3 or 4 people that know what post rock is. It's the second most underground genre I listen to. xD

And yeah, discovering new bands is awesome. I've just been going on wikipedia and looking at different bands under the post rock label and them looking them up to expand my collection.

Have you heard of 35007? They also incorporate elements of desert/stoner rock but they're definitley Post Rock as well. Very powerful too. I truly envy you if you haven't, because that means you'll get to listen to them for the first time. The first time I listened to them I literally felt like I was getting high off of the music, now no matter how much I listen, I can't get the feeling of their first high. Yes. I've actually discovered a band that can be equated with a drug. xD

I honestly don't think I've ever loved a genre before post rock, individual bands of various genres, yes, but not an entire genre. I used to be a metalhead, since I discovered post rock I've been slowly drifting away from it. So I suppose you could say I'm having an affair with it too. xD

The Album Leaf is amazing, although it's technically just one person, not a whole band. It's Jimmy LaValle's sideproject and his perpetual collaboration with Sigur Ros. All but his first two albums were recorded in their studio, too.

Hi! And thanks. You have an awesome taste in music too. I hardly ever run into other people who are into post rock.

God Is An Astronaut is so amazing, Sigur Ros too. Have you heard of The Album Leaf?

    I'm sorry to bother you,
but with the rule about no posting one-shots in one story, I want to make sure I know what I can and can't do.

Is it alright to post one-shots into one story that are semi-relevant, and have the same characters over and over? It's not necessarily a real story like a novel, but it's about the same people, just different plots.
Like fanfic100, if you know what that is.

    Thank you. (:

Hi, I was wondering, is it against the rules to have a link in your story summary, that allows you to click on the name of a character, and it will take you to a page with their picture on it? If it isn't against the rules, could you tell me how to do it?

    Thanks in advance:)

My sister is the one that's really into the Resident Evil movies. I think I saw the first 2 but I don't remember a thing that happens in it. XDDD
I forget most movies. I just remember my opinions on them.

Yeah, exactly. I think the story ended pretty much. Or that the sequel could have been written better.
Because I do like that they showed where people go when they're rescued and how it is...
but it just... I dunno. The only thing I can say about it is that it feels like it's just 30 minutes long because nothing happens in it till the end.

The sequel to it, while it does kinda of continue the MAIN plot, it just wasn't as great to me. It felt like it ended too soon to me. =/
You can watch it if you want, it might appeal more to you.

hehe I'm glad you liked it.
I heard about the movie back when it came out but didn't get the chance to watch it till like 2/3 years ago. Amazing....
I think it's pretty underrated over here. I don't see too many people that know it.

after the 3rd GD show I gave up trying to find their buses. It was fucking impossible. We just went to the hotel, ordered some pizza and passed the fuck out. XD
It was like the first bit of real food I had throughout the whole 3 day trip. XDDD
