• There are a few customers that, I'm not kidding, only come in to knock things over.
They're not kids either! These are middle aged men and women of fucking doom.

What kind of jobs are you applying for?
September 5th, 2011 at 07:31pm
• That sounds pretty damn ideal.

As I told you before, I started working after-hours, right? I started work 8:30pm, got off at 1:30am.
People are assholes. If I ruled the world I would make manufacturing unstackable cans punishible by death.

Okay now I really do sound like I'm on crack...

• I genuinely hope that when I move out, and get a room mate (room mates) we get along.
There's this story on here that has this really disfunctional pair of room mates, and I'm always like ''Shit, that's going to be me, I'm going to be that guy''
It's sort of humorous actually.

• It was meant to be read in the most posh british accent you could muster, so gold star for you! Hehe.

So how have you been?
I'm getting an fantastic heatwave that means 90 degree weather right on the coast so humidity will be around 80%... Yeah, this is going to be amazing.

• So true.
I hate how almost everyone I admire died the year I was born.
It's like they saw me coming and were like, ''Life still worth living chaps? No? Alrighty then!'' *dies*

• Good Luck with that one lol

• Have you read Neil Gaiman's ''American Gods''?
If not I would suggest that you do, because it is brilliant.
Odin ended up being one of my favorite book characters of all time.

Another good ''the Gods are real'' book is Douglas Adam's ''A Long Dark Tea-Time Of The Soul'', that book is hillarious.

• There are actually many similar concepts between Taoism and Nihilism.
The idea that whatever can be explained, named or seen isn't real, but a perception.
''The name that can be named is not the eternal name'', it's conceptually very similar.

I believe that religion is man made, I don't believe in deities.
Although I find it fascinating that we would imagine Gods and Goddesses.
If you notice, there is not a single God or Goddess whose appearance doesn't mirror that of ourselves or another creature on earth.
It is the same with mythical creatures, they are always a mixture of perfectly ordinary animals.
That is another reason that I believe they are imagined.

• I wouldn't say that the evils of the world disprove God per say, as anyone could say that any evil caused by man is a product of God-give free will, and temptation from the Devil; and that any ''natural'' evil like disease, natural disasters, ect, ect, ect, are a product of the Devil.
Anyone could say that, and no one would factually prove them right or wrong.

There are, on the other hand, a huge amount of inconsistancies in religious scripture, many conflicting ideas and so on.
Also if the Bible (we'll stick with Christianity) is the direct word of God, then what right do we have to say that anything in it is morally wrong, or irrelevant?
If you follow the Bible in the way it originally said it was to be followed (to the letter) then the world is absolutely terrifying.
I mean, Dominionism is in the Bible, that wipes out every other faith, and every kind of minority's freedom of expression, and over all freedom of life.
And that exists in other religions aswell; it is all rather frightening.

Also there is only room for one religion to be right, because not only do religions clash rather harshly in some cases, and disprove one another in areas of overlap, but they all damn the other to some form of eternal punishment for not believing in their religion, in the true religion.
So in a nutshell, it doesn't matter what you believe or don't believe, because either way you are going to Hell according to someone, and what tools do we have to tell which faith is true, and which is false?

Also, back to Christianity, Heaven is technically impossible, and that is even ruling out the whole ''It's a kindom in the freakin' sky, Mommy!'' aspect of it.
Why? Because as long as Jesus is seen as your Lord and Savior you go to Heaven.
That means we have republicans, democrats, racists and people of different ethnicities, you have Catholics, and all sectors of Christianity, you have homophobes and homosexuals, you have every kind of conflicting personality up in Heaven... How the hell is that freakin' paradise?

Is Zen Buddhism similar to Taoism?

• I am not generalizing, at least intentionally, all people of religion, but it seems the fundamentals of every religion is that you are not to question your God.
Well that is all good and fine, except when I think that God created the world, and everything on it, I also can't help but notice terminal deseases in children, or lethal natural disasters.
I can't just look at humanity and excuse our faults as our weakness to some phantom tempter.
That to me is total ignorance.

In saying this I don't want you to think that I hold hostility towards you in any way for being Buddhist, because I don't feel that way at all.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:32pm
• I'm probably a far less peaceful person than you are, I have tend to brood as I mull over humanity, and when it comes to religion I can't deny how hostile I am.
When someone accepts a religion, they seem to simultaneously accept the world exactly how it is.
Indirectly? Yes, often times it is very indirect, but the outcome remains the same.
I am so sick and tired of people accepting a religion, and then projecting all of their fears, and weaknesses into it as if they no longer are responsible.
Why make a difference when it's God's will?
Why should we care about Libia? They're not God-fearing Christians, who needs them? Forget about those starving kids in Africa, they don't know who Jesus is anyway.
Forget about knowledge, don't question the world, God made it, you don't question the work of God.

I see religion as a huge sourse of ignorance, and prejudice, I don't see it as a force for good.
I have a neighbor who believes that humans are all perfect beings, that every wrong doing is the work of the Devil on ''innocent souls''.
As if we aren't responsible for our actions, as if we are incapable of acting on our own.
Not only does that insult our intelligence, but it is sickly condescending.

I am constantly pained to think just how much more progressive society could be if religion weren't shrouding our every move.
Illegalizing abortion, abhoring non-hetero, non-gender conforming citizens and relationships, even racial prejudice.
How much further could we be if society was directed by logic?
Modern thinkers are damned to Hell in this society, how are we suppose to evolve at this rate? It's sickening.
