Short Change Hero. / Comments

  • True. There were rumors that Riddler was going to be in this, but he was going to be played by Eddy Murphey. I don't think that's going to happen as the trailer only showed Catwoman and Bane. Which I never knew about Bane till this movie. And now I know how critical he is to the story of Batman.

  • Hmmm, now I know how to picture him. Cause really Heath Ledger's joker as good as he was for THAT particular movie, he was just a crazed anarchist. He wasn't really the Arkham Asylum escapey(?) that everyone thinks of when the Joker is mentioned.

The way you portray the characters in your story is fairly spot on. Granted I know little to nothing about the Riddler.

  • He really is the most dynamic and creative super villain. He's so simple, yet he's so complex at the same time. You never really know what he's going to do next, because hell, he doesn't even know what he's going to do next. That role has been known to drive people crazy. Jack Nicholson warned Heath Ledger before he took the role. I honestly think it was that role of the Joker that threw him over the edge. Someone I met at an anime convention put it this way; Jack Nicholson is the attitude, Mark Hamal is the voice, and Heath Ledger is the look. Put all three of those together and you have the perfect Joker/ Jack Napier.

  • I've actually heard about 'The Killing Joke'. My boyfriend is a total fan-boy over the Joker and has mentioned it a few times. Didn't know about the other one though. They actually have a video on youtube you can look called 'The Killing Joke'. I'm sure it's based off of that comic.

  • I've never actually read the comics, but I have a boyfriend that's obsessed with the Joker and read the Batman comics. Of course, you've gotta remember that they never go by the comics when it comes to superhero movies. I mean, look at all the Marvel movies made and the few DC movies made. It would be damned near impossible to make those movies EXACTLY like the comics without being sued. The creators may give directors the rights to the characters, but not the plot. Marvel and DC own those characters and their plots.

Anyways, these directors that made all these superhero movies realize that not everybody has read the comics. So, they're trying to cater to everybody, ya know? As well as make it as original and their own as possible. It's kind of like writing a fan-fiction. You're taking characters/ people already created and weaving your own story through them. Does that make sense?

Sorry if I got a little deep with that. I literally just thought of all of that as I was typing. lol

  • Hm. I'll have to read to read it then. I'll acknowledge that Mad Dogg very possibly raped them, but I'm once again having trouble finding evidence to support The Mad Hatter being a rapist. I read one of the girls he kidnapped claimed was almost gang raped before he saved her. I need to read more of the comics though.

    Exactly. *pets Batman*

  • That's for sure and they're going by the comic books a lot more too, which is going to be epic.
    December 24th, 2011 at 01:16am
  • I'd heard that, but I was having a lot of trouble finding backing for that one. Plus, it doesn't seem like a very DC move to do. Marvel? Maybe, but DC? I don't know, so if it was done, it was added after the comics, probably.

Pretty much. And ah, Killer Croc. So annoying. Can we also call the Penguin unrealistic? I only say that because I do everything in my power to ignore that fat man.

It really does take the fun out of it when you try and bring reality into the dark, twisted reality that is Batman. I mean, I never see anyone try and make Superman realistic, why must it be done to Batman? Superman and Batman occur in the SAME universe. They work together (grudgingly) on occasions even.

  • That was definitely interesting, but yeah, Bane is going to be epic. ^_^ Sucks that we have to wait till summer for it to come out.

  • Are you excited for the Dark Knight Rises? :D
I know I am! It's going to be epic.

  • You're very welcome. :D
As you can tell I like the Joker. teehee

  • Yeah, when I saw them I made two of my other friends watch them. We now eagerly await the next season of them. =]
    December 23rd, 2011 at 10:24pm
  • Me too.

And then we get even crazier with some of the other people like Jonathan Crane. I'm not 100% sure of his storyline, but I'm pretty sure he was a psychiatrist that was obsessed with figuring out the innermost fears of people and then slowly just became warped by the sensation and also developed fear gas. Oh wait, no, he got fired because he was experimenting on patients, pretty sure. And the Amadeus Arkham storyline where he ends up electrocuting Mad Dogg (I think that's how you spell that, but I'm not 100% if it's spelled like that or if it's Mad that has a double letter) after that guy murders Arkham's wife and child.

Depending on where you go, some of those could be realistic. Also depending on what decade you're in, but all of them together in one city and in one time period is not. xD Except for Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy is just never realistic.

  • Exactly. It's Batman. THE JOKER BELONGS TO NO MAN. Well, except for the few starting creators of the comic books that I can't name off the top of my head, but I know the guy that claims to be the sole creator of it is disputed by the other ones.

Oh. Well then, see? We have a long time to rewatch season 1 repeatedly and sob with need into our pillows. Or be productive. Whatever. And yes, I love that too.

It's true. It's BATMAN, FOR FUCK SAKE. Batman's a super genius that got to stay with his butler after his parents were murdered in front of him and then grew up to fight crime while dressed up kinda like a bat. He also seems to have a slight case of dissociative identity considering Batman and Bruce Wayne are almost entirely sperate entities. Only both are totally aware of each other and have a codependent relationship. All while having the hots for Catwoman. I don't blame him, Selina Kyle is sexy.

  • As brilliant as Heath was, let's all be realistic, he was not the first, last or only person to play the Joker. It was not HIS role. He did a wonderful job on it, but he did not 'own' it.

Their youtube episodes are flawless, but I'm betting they won't be putting out anything officially from the new season until after the date that the donation time is up since that money is going to cover the costs of season 2.
    December 23rd, 2011 at 07:13pm
  • Yeah, it's blown up. It's nuts and they're total geniuses.

I would just about die if they used them in the movies. Although some people are being bitchy and claiming their Joker is too 'young' looking. Whatever. I think he's glorious. Besides, maybe they can just claim the Joker got thrown into the Lazarus Pit.

  • -Highfives-
You just made my day. I love to read and such, I don't have TV and all I watch once in a while are my three or four favorite movies.
Sometimes I find a really good move, so I hunt down the book. For example I liked Coraline, so I read it, Wybourne, isn't even in the book at all.
    December 23rd, 2011 at 06:16am
  • Absolute. *nods*

You must have looked at it ages ago. It's currently been claimed by 122 people.
