  • omg, look at you. I'm 16 and never been honked at :D But I hope that they're not REALLY weird. I will definitely check all those songs out. Amy Less really seems to have lots of personal lyrics, doesn't she? Maybe it's a way of coming to grips with her life. I listened to "Imaginary" last night and it almost made me cry because I once went though a period where my room was my only haven from the outside world where things were not going really well. Speaking of which, have you seen "Bully?" It's kind of scary but true I think of the way some schools are. I want to write a story about bullying, more funny than scary, but am having trouble getting started. Writer's block I guess.

  • I can see you know shoving people aside to get to the front xD. And here I thought you were sooo polite and refined :)))) You'll probably find guys checking you out more and more and as long as they're just checking it's cool. My sister turned 15 last fall and when we went to a ballet performance over Christmas, guys were definitely eyeing her up during intermission (because although she's a tomboy, she's really cute and when she dresses up, she's really attractive). So prepare yourself for it to happen more often xD. The Nobel Peace Prize concert? Wow, that's pretty impressive. Yeah the shadows make the picture look very interesting and you look like you're studying ur phone. Oh our field trip is on Tuesday. Can't wait! Have a magic week! :)))

    Thank you! aha :')

  • Yeah, I should have figured that someone like you would appreciate old music. So you're a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, huh (ewww, awful joke). The lyrics are great (especially like Dylan and Springsteen who are really musical poets) but I also like that blusey guitar playing. PBS had a special on about a month ago where all these great blues guitarists like B.B. King played for the President and Michelle. And Mick Jagger was also there! It was really awesome. Kids who don't know about old music are really missing something. It's like that about clothes too. Talk to some girls and it's like the miniskirt was invented in 2010 or something instead of back in the 1960s. I love shopping in 70s vintage clothing stores..

I can see why you like Evanescence. Amy Lee is an amazing singer and I thought her outfit was cute too. (Maybe cute isn't the right word). I also liked their drummer a lot. Thanks for the link. You probably saw this but I'll pass it on anyway:

omigosh Domi, you must've been like a celeb to get that close. :D I'm sure it was a great concert. Lucky you!! You've probably heard of Janice Joplin and Grace Slick but they're other strong women singers of the 60s/70s who probably influenced Amy.

Oh I love your new profile pic: like a deep thinker. :D

  • I hope you don't think I'm totally bubblegum in my music :D I actually got roped into the Miranda Cosgrove concert by a my friend Elaine and it was me and about 10 boys with about 10,000 girls. Kinda weird. I listened to both of the songs and liked them, especially the immortal. The lyrics were very poignant and the piano was very good. I could see why you like them; the YouTube video looked like it was shot in an Italian village. :D Actually, I don't know if I told you this, but I really like the music of the 1960s and 70s. My grandparents (former hippies) have all these great vinyl recordings. And last summer to fill the time, my sis and I copied a bunch of old stuff to DVDs. It was really great: the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan, the Kinks, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, etc. There's a group from the 60s called Procol Harum that is amazing. Ck out this track and listen to the organ and the drums.

All their music is like this, kinda strange but with beautiful lyrics.

I guess I'm stuck in the past :D

  • Yeah, lots of Holy Cross schools I guess. Most Catholic High schools here now are becoming co-ed but the private ones are still all-boys or girls, I went to an all-boys one for a few months but hated it, but Jules loves H.C. That's kind of an impressive thing about doctor's degrees. It's hard to get concert tickets here so I haven't been to one in awhile. The summer when I was 14 though I saw both Katy Perry and Miranda Cosgrove. Katy was amazing. Miranda was cute but boring :D

  • Goodness, I hadn't thought of that but I guess that's a disadvantage of a school with 5000 students even though it's a great school. Field trips are great even the ones that aren't all that interesting because it makes you feel freer. And Washington is great because there's lots of museums and theatres and things. Last fall, my class went to a Degas exhibit at a little museum called the Phillips Collection because it was all about ballet dancers. But even kids who think ballet is stupid (mostly boys) had to admit the paintings were wonderful. Subs are bad everywhere. My school has a bunch of part-time teachers, like Miss Kudner (she let's us call her Randi :D) who teaches costume design works full time for the Shakespeare Theatre Company. So we visited there in the fall too. But your school has better academics I bet with almost everyone going to college. My sister Julia goes to a private catholic girls' school, Holy Cross, and they have about a 99% college admission rate.

  • Oh I loved Jersey Boys and Antigone. I saw the movie version of Grease but never on stage. My school does two productions each year. In the fall, we did "Adventures of Tom Sawyer." I was on the costume team and had a little part because one boy quit. This spring, it's "A Chorus Line" and I'm doing costumes again with my friends Beth and Megan. And my costume class is going on a field trip next week to see the costumes for the Washington Ballet's Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait.

  • It was a play called "God of Outrage" and it's about two groups of parents who meet because their 11 year old kids get into a fight (the one actually hit the other one with a stick ugh). was "interesting" I guess, lots of funny parts (and some good cursing) but I didn't really get it fully I guess. At first I was like, "I can't imaging parents really acting that way" but then I thought about my own parents (before their divorce) and other kids' parents and I'm like, "Well maybe!" I can't complain tho, because I love going to the theatre and dressing up. Plus we went for Cuban food for dinner which I like a lot. (omg, I feel so fat today :D). The ghost adventures sounded pretty good. I like stuff like that.
