Yes, yes it does. Silly real life, not being as entertaining as online life.
I have heard of it, but that's about it, sadly. It always like, gets put onto a list of things to do and then forgotten about.
That's always another good option. Or for non-sci fi things, I like to list cities that are like, everywhere. Like using Springfield for the city or Elm Street for the street since those are all the fuck over the place.
I watch so many movies. It's kind of crazy. Also, one of my favorite things to do is to watch/mock bad movies. Bad horror movies are the best.
Rofl. Plausible science is the best. Plus, if you go into the future or onto a different planet, then you can get away with a lot more science stuff. Simply because you can be like, "Shut the fuck up, you just don't understand the physics of my fictional planet/future."
I pay attention to cast partially if I hate someone, but also because the right performance can make something better than it would have otherwise been. The casting in a movie can make or break it. Some actors just kind of do the same thing over and over again or just overact or something.
Science is one of those where it's obvious, but I wish more writers in general would do more research. Roleplay and fanfiction writers as well. Sometimes it's small things, like them asserting in a story that someone wouldn't kiss back if they didn't enjoy it, which I can attest that with the miracle of alcohol, that statement is false. Then other times it's big things, where you're like, "Well, God, I'm so glad this guy sexually assaulting you and being a general creep has been totally forgotten about in under a week. I mean, shit, what if it'd been something serious, like him not texting you back quick enough?"
I admit to never being excited about the movie Gravity, although not because of the science. I'm not really a fan of Sandra Bullock. George Clooney is also a hit and miss kind of deal with me. He's either charming or I'm sitting there going, "Okay so, George Clooney is being George Clooney again. He's supposed to be acting, right?"
Plus, I saw a sneak preview on a show and immediately said out loud, "That looks like bullshit," which really annoyed my parents.
For some reason my brain read your post wrong and so I got distracted from media and now I'm watching PronunciationManual videos. 'Cause they're also amazing. Totally unrelated though.
But yes, CinemaSins is fabulous and when I first found it, I was like, "HEY, WAIT A SECON--okay that's actually a fair point. That is too. Damn."
Although I don't think they gave nearly enough sins to Dark Knight Rises, but I also have a deep and unending hatred of that movie.
I adore movies, but CinemaSins is still one of my favorite things ever. Mostly because 99% of the time they're spot on. Even about movies I still love even with all those errors.
Oh, no, I definitely agree that it could have been much, much better. Although I was initially ridiculously enamored with it when I didn't think about it too much. She did almost go into lonely villain territory, but I was fine with her story arc being what it was. Anna's was the one that ended up being more cliche and then ended up being kind of making no sense.
Actually, this pretty much sums it up and it's hilarious. I think you'll enjoy it.
Continuing our convo here 'cause we'd gotten super off topic.
Elsa wasn't being 'rebellious', but rather was terrified of what people would think. If anything, she's a cliche of a superhero story than anything, but not a Mary Sue. Although I will admit that I have come to view Anna as a poor man's Rapunzel, but way less interesting.
