Poetry is sort of a big thing for me, and it's nice to know it's appreciated

Haha I just truly believe it can. It can persuade, it can touch people on an emotional level, and it can convey so many feelings and expressions that you feel you can't really say in your life without paper and a pencil. Or in my case, a computer as well.
