Write of Spring.
The Rite of Spring, also known as Le Sacre du Printemps, was originally written as a ballet in 1913 by Igor Stravinsky, but has since been rewritten as an entire concert piece. Though well-known for its primitive-sounding music and unconventional ballet choreography, it was most infamous for the riot it started during the world premiere. As soon as it began, a "terrific uproar" bursted out among the audience, involving things to be thrown at the performers. But the musicians and danced continued on with the performance and soon, the audience began to calm down, ending with several curtain calls for the dancers. Now, The Rite is seen as one of the most influential works on music history.
