  • I'm pretty good. Kind of mad that Mibba can't just let us write without needless rules that don't do anything besides cause more work for everyone and make it harder to find stories. But other than that I'm good.

  • We just went to Dublin to chill out and do a wee bit of shopping and visit a few cousins and second ousins =P It was good fun - I disappeared and ended up sitting in the GPO for an hour =P My favourite place in the whole world!

Awh, thank you, my dear =D I shall go and check it out. The only problem is my stories are generally so indie that no one reads them!

    So, how are you?

  • ARMOURED CARS AND TANKS AND GUNS
CAME TO TAKE AWAY OUR SONS
BUT EVERY MAN WILL STAND BEHIND
    THE MEN BEHIND THE WIRE!

That is one of my favourite rebel songs ever =D My Da used to sing it to me when I was a child, and my grannie Fionnghuala used to give me money when I was little if I sang it =P

I'm in a band with my friends, and we play rebel songs all the time!

No, we got the full brunt of the Troubles. Crossmaglen is world famous for them. You should Google it - that's what I say to explain it better =P It's so cool for me to read all that happened on Google and know I was there and saw it or just know I live there!!!

  • Ma's half from Crossmaglen (her Da is from here) and half from Belfast (her Ma is a Belfast chick!)

So that means us kids are a mix of the most Republican places in Ireland =D West Cork, West Belfast and Crossmaglen, and I have Dublin thrown in there as well as I was born there =D

My Da is mad - I love him for it!

I have a load of stories ... perhaps I should write them all down? Ever since I was little I've seen things like that ... when I was a couple of weeks old the IRA stopped our car and an IRA man was holding me while Da got the details out of the boot to show them =D I was just brought up round it.

  • Which time I was in the paper?
The one where I was rioting they weren't best pleased. Well, Ma wasn't - she yelled and screamed at me about "irresponsible behaviour" and "maturity" and "do-you-have-no-sense-you-could-have-been-killed".
Da, however, slapped me on the back, yelled "Tiocfaidh ár Lá", and told me to "show those fucking huns who's boss and tell them to get the hell out of our country!"
But there you are - he's a pure-bred Collins so what do you expect?

This time Ma and Da were more raging at the fact I had been sectarianly abused. Seriously, they weren't even mad at me because I was so bruised they felt sorry for me haha!

But everyone in the North has a story ... especially where I live. Like, IRA stronghold.

  • Ah, no, I've been on the news/in the paper loads of times. There was a picture of me on the front page once, but I had my scarf up over my nose and mouth and I was throwing a rock. Unfortunatley, Ma and Da worked out it was me ... I didn't realise that it had my name mentioned on the inside. It was a riot in Belfast, and it said something like "the riot escalated out of control when army and police presence bacame available and everyone go involved, as 13-year-old Fionnghúala Collins (pictured front page) shows."

I'm always in the local paper as well, and I was on the news once being interviewed because of this whole thing that was going on about Michael Collins =D

Ooh! Can't wait for the new chapter =D

My arm is a lot better now ... though I'm a local legend again haha!

  • We were on the news =D

"Thirteen policemen were injured in the rioting which occured late on Friday night following riots between Catholic and Protestants and three Catholic youths had to recieve hospital treatment."

    ^ ^ ^ That was in the paper =)

I had to work today, and it's hard to work at a kennels with only one fully functional arm!

  • Argh yeah, I'm alive, but in a lot of pain =(

Makes writing incredibly hard. I mean, you only realise when something like this happens how much of an inconvenience injuries can be.

But it's good for my project ... now I know that they're evil =D

Apart from our friends Will, Scott, David, Josh and James ... they saved our asses ... like ... literally.

  • Oh, Naoise.

Complete disaster on the 11th Night. =O

I don't know how it happened, but me, Caoímhbhe and Áine were all at the bonfire with a group of Protestants that we know and we're friends with and all, we're all sweet together, and someone started putting it round this other big group that we were Catholics.

So then this guy comes over and says to me, "Why are you here?" and I said, "How do you mean?" and he goes, "You're a Taig, aren't you?"

So me and Caoímhbhe and Áine decided to get the heck out of there pretty fast, so we went across the field and over to the pavement, and meanwhile this big group was telling everyone else, and hlafway up the road they all started coming after us and yelling, "Go on home, you fenian bastards, go on home!"

So we ran like fuck because they were all coming after us and they started peltin rocks at bottles at us and caught up with us around the corner ...

To cut a long story short, my arm's now in a sling and I have this massive bruise on my leg and hip from rocks.

The good thing is our Protestant friends told them all to go fuck off and leave us alone, and we all got drunk.

But still ... one of the scariest experieces of my life.

  • Haha, yeah, come to the dark side (aka me and Sheen's side) we have sprinkles =P

Don't worry, I only have to stay there until about nine ... in a bar ... full of huns ... talking about our controversial project haha.

  • It nearly wasn't the national anthem in the first place - "God Save Ireland" was actually the unofficial anthem.

I know, I was watching that movie again today and I love that quote so much ... just the context in which it's said is so freaky and evil!

Help me, Naoise ... it's tomorrow and I have to go the hun festival =( I'm really scared haha!

  • Noice. Wish I was there. I plan on it eventually, but who knows how long it will take.

I know my mom is saving up for a trip there, but it's been at least three years since we started saving.

  • Hmm, well in different areas of Ireland it's spelt different ways. That's how we spell it here, I'm not sure how you do it in other places.
