  • Haha, thanks! I think i'm going to write it up now (:
    August 15th, 2009 at 01:12am
  • Haha, depending on how much I get into this one will depend on how fast I update it. But, I'm like trying not to get a slow start on it, you know? Like, the first chapters going to open up with Billie moving into Murder City. So yeah haha.

  • Hey, thanks!! I couldn't let them have a happy ever after, that'd be too lame for the story X3. However, the Inferno's going to be more serious then Saint Jimmy. It's going to deal heavily with loosing your mind!
    August 15th, 2009 at 12:59am
  • Haha, I've really come to realize that.
    August 12th, 2009 at 10:22pm
  • X3 Totally. People really need to use common sense.
    August 12th, 2009 at 09:33pm
  • No, I totally get it. I like texting, but only my friends. Like, it's like what's the sense of texting during school? When you can't go six hours without texting, you know you've got a problem. I love modern technology, but I think in every sense you're right. I think people are barley the same as they used to be.

And girls just want in rockstars pants most of the time. I garuntee like half of the girls that like bands can't even name one song. I think it's funny when girls get all glammed up to go to a rock concert or something like the guys are really going to see her. Stop stalking the tour buses and get a life!

  • Really, the music you get on CDs and burned CDs aren't that great of quality either, but I totally get the whole Vinyle thing. I've had mine since I was like born, so yeah haha. I don't listen to them much, but it's nice to have. Especially with the way that bands are TRYING to re-introduce them to people.

And, I agree. As long as someone's helped out by a song, you should pat yourself on the back. Music is all about sitting there and being like "hey, this song is so me!" and blaring it when you're down, and thinking "Someone understands, I'm not alone!" So whether it be a break up or something else, just write music that's going to help. Not this pointless garbage that just repeats and you don't understand any of it.

And I know how you feel! I used to play Jesus of Surburbia on repeat. And, maybe it taught your friend a lesson for talking on the phone with her boyfriend while you're there (OMG that really drives me nuts, for real). And, that's totally where you left off (: But seriously, people just need to shut up. Everyone likes their own sense of music, and calling other bands out is pointless. Hey, you like them, go ahead. Obviously they've helped you in some way. What I can't stand is when somebody likes a band for their looks. Like, listen to the music, don't pay attention to the way they look in their outfits. There's so many girls out there that are like OMG BILLIE JOE I LOVE HIM! And they can't name a song.

  • I agree, the songs that mean a lot you have to actually search for, not just sit there and go "wow this is catchy, but what the HELL are they talking about?!"
And, I don't get the whole sell out thing for any band. When you're getting into music, and you start a band with your friends, your only goal is to make it big and earn a lot of money doing something you love. How can you be a sell out by achieving your goal?
Hmm, I think the whole "most punk rock thing we could do" thing is kinda like (well as I take it) they changed their sound completely around for ONE entire song, and it wasn't just a bunch of guys playing music and yelling about how much they hated life while they sat on a couch. it was really a hate filled song to billie's ex-girlfriend, but everyone took it as this huge power ballad for weddings in crap. I don't know, that's just how i kinda interpret it haha.
and, vinyls are cool! I still have records X3
LMFAO ughh. i'm still amazed that the one kid could play a NINE minute song. how the hell can you remember all the chords?! muscians make it look so easy, but seriously, i don't think it is. it's so frustrating try to learn it, but maybe that's just me.
like, i haven't spent time on the streets nor do i want to, but it's not a fun thing. i don't think you drive around new york city, and see homeless people sitting there smiling and waving at you like they just won the freakin' lotto. it's like, come on. use some common sense.
andddd this is where it cuts off: bein on the streets thing, I don't spend a hella amount of time on the streets like some people i know. but i have spent a little bit. and i don't think it's really a matter of being fun or not

  • X3 Theres so much to agree with in that statement, that I'm going to try and start SOMEWHERE.

Okay, I'll totally start with this; I've NEVER heard of the band Hole, so they can't be too good of a band. I personally think all music is about the same exact thing; sex, drugs, and in some cases rock and roll. Music is repeatative, and until you can actually take that to the next level, it's useless. Is it catchy? Sure, absolutely. But, do people sit there and analyze it and go "Wow, this is great. I've been through this, they've captured it so vivdly." I doubt it. Take stuff like Lady gaga, is it catchy? Absolutely. Make you think? Mm...not really.

I totally agree about each album being a story. I like how they aren't afraid to tell you to 'question everything'. Their rock opera totally blew up, and it's coming out as a musical now. There's not one song on American Idiot in my opinion that I don't think NOBODY could agree with. But, the worst part about it is how people sit there and try to copy it. (Sorry if you like My Chemical Romance =/ I don't mean to like offend at all) When The Black Parade came out, it was a complete knock off. The bad part? None of the songs connected and told a story. I really don't even know what it was all about, to be honest.

And, I'm totally in that same boat X3 I have no idea how to play their songs, and I was actually watching this fan video yesterday where he was playing Jesus Of Surburbia, and continued it UNTIL IDearly Beloved. I was like, yeah okay, I'd make a total fool of myself. But, I think it's about having a total good time. The guys make sure you can actually play before pulling you up.

And, I get the whole "music constantly" thing with characters. We all have a song that is constantly stuck in our heads, and using it just makes everything more real. And, I'm glad you like my imagery so much in the story (: The rain is kinda like a metaphor; not everything's a ray of sunshine. People write about being on the streets like it's a GREAT thing. "oh i played some guitar, had some fun, now i'm a rockstar!" That's NOT how it goes.

  • Exactly! Like, you can do as much research as you want, but like you said, it can only come from personal experience since everyone's different. the only reason i know about panic attacks is because when i started writing band fics a while ago, this one girl gave me her personal story on them. is that how everyone acts, i don't know. but, i'm assuming that a panic attack is a more intense form of normal panic.
are drugs bad in a natural sense? of course, like you see so many celebrity deaths related to them. but, it's not something to really complain about. everyone will do what they want, when they want to. i wouldn't have my characters use the drugs, simpley because i have NO clue how people act on them (besides your mouth goes numb from the dentist X3). i try taking lyrics to support the action, but that's it.
totally, and i think what makes them more real, and less like "hey, i'm a freakin' rockstar, BOW down." is the fact that at every show, they pull people up on the stage and have them play their songs or cover songs. i think it's pretty nice, but that's just me.
and i totally agree with you! i like how gd isn't afraid to say what they WANT to say about the government, falling in love when it isn't right, doing drugs, and running away. i think american idiot held a great image of what it's like when you truley come from a broken home, and then slowly loose your mind to the streets. i love how real they write, and it's like they don't sugar coat anything. you hear too much repative music and lyrics in rock.
and, i don't mind the long comments (: it's nice to have a conversation like this!

  • Exactly. Billboards should be promoting the media, but like with small town charities you can advertise on television, and I guarantee it gets around more than a billboard on one highway, going to a different country. Use it for something just a bit tad more useful.
Exactly. It just depends on if you over do the pot. But things like that are pretty easy to stop, drugs like Heroin are a ton more serious. There's probably more people addicted to that then there is pot.
And, I love Malcolm In The Middle! (Just thought I'd throw that in there haha)
Completely understood. LIke some of those stories are really fun to read, but it's like this would never happen. Everyone in Green Day is married, and they have two kids each. They aren't going to throw all of that away for an 18 year old they just met, and possibly throw away their careers.
    August 12th, 2009 at 05:50am
  • Lmfao Billboards are so stupid now days. Like, it's great that the guy from the Goo Goo Dolls donates to a charity, but rent a billboard for something else every once in a while. And what's with all the alcohol billboards?
X3 No, I totally get it. The world's made up with a ton of drug junkies, and it's a big part of every day. Why try to avoid it in a story? I totally agree with you though, there's so many stories where the person's already famous and the fan magically meets them after a concert or something. It's like, do you think that would really happen? Meeting them after a concert, possibly. But, the odds of them divorcing their wives, leaving their families, and running away with someone half their age is a fantasy, and nothing more.
    August 12th, 2009 at 03:19am
  • X3 Agreed. There's too much depression in the world most of the time. There needs to be an official happy day like every week or two ;]
And thanks (: When I started it I was like, "this isn't going to be like every story out there and be like 'OMG YOU'RE BILLIE JOE I LOVE YOU LETS GET MARRIED". I wanted to make it realistic, and not your average story. So, I'm glad I'm doing my job (: And I'm glad you're so into it!
    August 12th, 2009 at 02:48am
  • Haha I'm pretty good, surprisingly happy.
And seriously, your reviews on my story mean a lot (since I read your about me)
And everyone has their own interpretation of the album, so whoever Saint Jimmy is to you is who they are (:
But seriously, I've really taken my time on Saint Jimmy.
I tried to take it more maturely (:
    August 11th, 2009 at 04:40pm
  • Haha yeah. I've been trying to get better at that X3 How are you?
    August 11th, 2009 at 02:32am
  • I'm posting iiiiittttt =D
I always think I don't like that story until I start reading back through it
    August 9th, 2009 at 02:02am
  • Ugh, thanks XD I have to like keep saying Jimmy/Whatsername in order to keep from typing Billie/Annabelle. But thanks (: I'll go back and change that since I didn't catch that! Glad you like it (:
    August 8th, 2009 at 05:38pm
  • lol I know. I always get so sad when I end one. I have to start another one that second or I just keep thinking about it :`[
    August 8th, 2009 at 01:39am
  • Yea yea. I will . . . I think I'm trying to put off ending it. -_-
I just need to do it, right. I want to write some more before I post tho ^_~
    August 5th, 2009 at 11:05pm
  • Thanks for your comment on my one-shot "Two Dollar Bill". I'm flattered that you liked it so much =D. I quit fan fiction for a while because I felt like I had to grow up, but I couldn't stay away from it.
