The Way I Saw It Was....I Guess I Wasn't Really Seeing It

It's quite shocking and sort of dissapointing when something happens to someone that you've known quite well that makes you look at them like they are a completely different person...because somehow, from that event, they become a totaly different person than who YOU know. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that when someone you've know for awhile turns out not to be the person you think they...

Favorite Books?

I love to read and write and so I guess it’s for good reason that I have a mibba account because it is essentailly for readers and writers. But anyway I'm always looking for new things to read because I just love it! Reading can be for any weather and for any time, or well at least for me it is.I recently just finished the book, Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane and yes there was just a movie that...

People who've sen Shutter Island, got a question for you! (For those of you who haven't and still want to...there are spoilers here so you might not w

I saw Shutter Island today and wow was it mind blowing! literally. I'm not sure if I like it or don't yet....partly because I couldn't exactly understand it. I'm STILL thinking about it...hours later.I won't really give anything away here but just talk about some things. First off, I don't think Teddy Daniels is really insane, I think he kind of feighned that and the other people on the Island are...

The funny things that happen when it snows

Today,as you can probably gage from the title of the journal, it snowed. A LOT! Actually it's been snowing for about two days nonstop, like it's slowed down at times but really it has not stopped. At any given point in the day it has been snowing even a little flurry and it hasn't stopped for two days. It's kind of crazy but pretty cool. What's cooler is class cancellations which I happened to get...

Hemp, Dear John, Phone Issues....Random

I realized I haven't written a journal entry in awhile and I didn't really expect to write really consistently....but anyway I'mn guesing no one really cares about that.In other news.....I learned how to make bracelets out of hemp! It's really cool and hemp is somewhat cheap so it's pretty cool and easy to do. I also watched the movie Dear John with a couple of friends last week. It was good/...

Hey Guitar Players! I Need Your Help!

I recently got an acoustic guitar, which I've wanted forever!!! The only problem is I'm completely new to guitar playing and I'd love it if anyone and everyone could give me any tips or suggestions that they have for me on playing the guitar. So far, I've asked a few of my friends for tips and stuff and most of them tell me to keep on playing and practicing and that my fingers are going to be sore...

The Cool Thing About Airports

I was at the airport to drop off my mom yesterday because she was going to visit my grandma and the rest of the family for awhile. I wish I could go too but for whatever reasons, which I won't say, so please don't ask, I didn't go.So when we were at the airport I was looking around. The planes themselves are awesome and watching them take off is cool too. There are also massive amounts of people...

Everyone's got to Believe in Something

My friend and I had a really deep talk today. Maybe it was the stress of upcoming finals or something but we somehow got talking about a lot of different stuff and we came onto the topic that everyone has to believe in something. It doesn't necessarily have to be a God or a religion, but something makes people get up every day. I, myself am religious but that's not what I'm getting at when I mean...

Snow! (Nothing too interesting about the title, I know)

Ok so as indicated by the title, yeah it snowed where I live today. It snowed enough, but of course school was not delayed or cancelled for me, espeically because it was finals week so I was kind of expecting it to be open and all. Trudgining through the snow at 8am for an 8:30 final was fun and not so fun. It was freezing to say the least, of curse because if it was warm, it wouldn't be snowing...

So really, how do you feel about writing?

I know the title sounds kindof weird because, well, Mibba is after all a writing community/site. But seriously, How do you feel about writing, not just good or bad, but I mean how does it actually make you feel inside and out?I'm writing this entry, well for one because I love writing, especially casual writing and fictional writing like stories, poems, etc and also because I have a term paper to...

What are you thankful for?

Why isn't the journal section gone yet haha? All the entries I'm writing now are going to get erased when the blog section comes. Well anyway instead of complaining about that I thought I'd write a little something about being thankful, and not in a spiteful way, but in the spirit of Thanksgiving for those of us who celebrate this holiday.I know that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays...

Twilight: Vampires, werewolves, craziness?

So, New Moon, the second movie in the book series Twilight is coming out tomorrow. Now, I like to read a lot so I actually did read the whole Twilight series. (For all you who also read it I liked Eclipse the best.) Anyhow, I'm not one of those crazy fans, but I do admit to liking it. The books in my opinion are so, SO much better, and I kind of hated the Twilight movie. I Just don't like the...

Zombies, Humans and Nerf Guns

Ok, So I know that the journals section will soon be taken away but I had to write this anyway. At school there's always new experiences and I happened to sort of witness one as I was walking back to my dorm with a friend. there were these boys running arund with bandanas on their heads and they had nerf guns in their hands! I mean nerf was amazing during my childhood so to see it on campus I was...

MJ's memorial service

Today was Michael Jackson's Memorial Service/funeral. It was pretty powerful and quite sad. One thing about his death still continues to bother me though. People are constantly saying: well people die everyday, who cares? let's just get over it. That makes me sort of angry. I am a fan of MJ's music but I'm not favoring him or anything with my point. Seriously though I was on facebook today and...
