Olympic Athlete Dies In Tragic Luge Accident
On Friday, February 12th, 2010, the world lost a talented young athlete by the name of Nodar Kumaritashvili. On a practice run at the Whistler Sliding Centre, the 21 year old luge competitor from the country of Georgia was tragically thrown from his sled and hit an unprotected metal pole and died instantly.
