Actually, that sounds like a really good system.

It was changed to 17 here as well a few years ago, but nothing was made of it at my school, because everyone stayed on into sixth form (years 12-13) anyway.

And the course sounds amazing, I'd love to do something like that!

A-Levels are basically just our higher education degree - school is compulsory until 16 when you take GCSEs (which I take this year), then you can stay on to higher education and take A-Levels (or the IB at my school - different places do different things but Al-Levels are most common) at 18, then go to uni and do whatever.

I actually love Contact - It's got so much symbolism and is a really effective method of showing the situation, but I'm not surprised it's not in the School's Version!

I'm just on choosing A-Levels this year. I'm thinking of Geography, Latin, Philosophy and Psychology, then going on to do PPP, because it's difficult just to take a specific degree for writing and directing, and I'm a bit more focused on the directing side of it, so I'll just keep up my drama classes!

I'd love to do something like that - I want to do direction/production in TV/Flim/Theatre when I'm older. It's a bit awkward whan choosing A-Levels though!

And it was on the deleted scenes? I haven't actually got the DVD of the film, I just watched my friend's copy alot. But I've seen the stage musical as well.
