Ode to Z - Comments

  • I'm so glad you posted this! I really liked this one. Z was a great man, an amazing teacher, and an even better friend to those of us who where willing to give him the chance to teach us. I think the biggest lesson I got from him was that no matter how serious life gets you can always turn it into a game, you never have to loose the fun or the wonderment. Because there's always something new around the corner, and as long as you do what you love and love what you do life will never be dull. We all love you Mr. Z and hopefully by now you've found an even bigger group of students willing to be taught by the greatest English teacher the world will ever see.

Thank you so much TheCatWithNoHeart. :) I'm glad you liked it. And it took a while to remember what he taught at the time but including the classical literature was a wonderful part. :) Thank you so much for your comment. :D

  • Oh, this is wonderful. Reminds me of an awesome teacher in my school. Thank Goodness they're still teaching! Great job, I love the references to classical literature in there, and the rhyme really is superb. Top notch. :D

Thank you so much for sharing Farore. Very Happy There are many teachers who are like that, who seems really awesome and they taught us some things that we just couldn't really learn in a classroom but would use later in life. That's how our school was. And we had this thing that the school was pretty small, so we already knew what was up and most of us didn't really get a chance to say goodbye before he left. Always remember those memories right? Smile Thank you so much for the comment and I'm glad you liked it. :)

  • I had a favorite teacher too. He taught Art, but he wasn't very good at it. (Weird, I know. Just shows how crappy my high school was lol.) He was really weird, funny, had an incredibly loud laugh, and he used to walk down the halls really fast and mumble to himself. He gave me quartz crystals and told me if I was his daughter he would sign me up for Tae Kwon Do. I don't really know the circumstances of his firing, none of the teachers would say anything, just that he got into an argument with the principal then he was gone. I didn't get to say goodbye to him or anything, but he was an awesome teacher. This is a really beautiful poem with meaning. Thank you. :)
