Oh my gosh! I absolutely love this! The message of it is so powerful and so true. I don't know whether you meant it personally or politically, but I sort of took it politically and I think it's such an true statement to make about today's world “powers”. I also like the idea of how nothing is permanent, and that can be felt on both the personal and political level. It's like everything you know will eventually either fade or more likely crumble and fall. Not to mention, I really like the phrase about how those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it, so to see a poetic twist on that notion is just really cool.
