I hope this sounds like a compliment because I mean it as one, but I could see this as a part of a collection of like epic fantasy poems and this would be where the protagonists dies to save the kingdom or something. It's a really cool image, like when Boromir dies for the hobbits or something. Basically what I'm saying in a really crappy way is that your poem is like the snapshot in a movie that sticks with you. For me, the poems I like best are ones I could spend the rest of the day thinking about and this is defintely one.
