Behind A Golden Heart

Behind thy golden heart,
Beats a slow, sluggish pulse.
For reasons known to me,
And alas to thee as well.

When looking into thy mirror,
All I can see is despair,
Unhappiness and ignorance also lie there.
Hidden far down in my eyes.

The golden heart beats slowly,
And painfully as it sees you.
Crying for the love,
It should have been given but never got.

As I look towards you,
You turn around.
Pretending you do not know me,
Sending me into a mental abomination.

Can’t you tell thy golden heart,
You care for it?
Because if you cannot,
Tell me now,
And leave me in peace.
