One Decision

He was just a long lost memory

Everyone stumbled upon every blue moon

He was just that kid in 2nd grade to me

Not anymore.

That sweet, innocent face I once knew

Is now rough around the edges

That radiating confidence

Has dwindled down to his insecurities

He’s slowly dying inside so early in life

All because of one breath, one cigarette, one decision

I’ll never look at him the same way.
