At Fault

Thoughts cascading down into bottomless pools of misery
Dreadful feelings enveloping the transparent body and broken soul
Not only is it me who is at fault for the majority of our issues
But it’s always by my hand you become lost without a clue

Our togetherness is slowly separating, deep roots disconnected
My relentless influence wedges between our outstretched hands
Maybe I am the deceiver of our sacred yet tainted connection
Inevitably leading us to death, despair, and demonic bands

I could never survive without you standing by my lonely side
Everytime we are together I wish the moment frozen forever in time
But when we sit closely I create a barrier of grief and sorrow
I keep hurting you and pushing at the bond, run, my dear, and hide

This rate we are moving, the bonds will shatter, endlessly falling
Get away from me, dear, before I hurt you more for death is calling
