Look it in the face

He never saw it coming, none of them ever do
No such man rises in the morning, knowing or expecting it
Nor does one pray for it to happen in that sudden violent flash.

A life dedicated to death?
To bring up arms in hopes of catching a fast one?
For a man to die without request or dreamlike mockery?

Stare and shudder, for it is ultimately real, selfish, cruel and cold.
Be real instead of faking the dead
