Setting Suns

Watching as the sun sets,
I feel a rush of gratitude.
Somehow I've managed to live another day,
But I wouldn't make any bets.

For if I had another try,
I know I'd burn up and die.
Pathetic I know,
But I can't seem to get that angelic face out.

The sun is getting eaten,
Slowly but surely.
Watching another day leave,
And a new night fall upon us.

The endless circle of life;
For when humanity is long gone,
The sun shall still set and rise.
The cycle of life forever more.
