Goodbye Friend

Her deathly pallor, visible bones scare us all
Yet she’s determined to lose more weight
Lying in the hospital bed,
Only one way to feed her –
A feeding tube down her throat
It’s a sad, sickening sight to all that love her
It hurts us all to remember the girl who’s hidden
She should be getting better but there’s a problem
She can’t see the truth we all see
She wants to get skinnier so she pulls out the tube
Only a few more days that she has left
The tube can’t stay in long enough . . .
It’s too late

Goodbye* . . .
