Stained saint

I assembled all my reasoning to keep you by
I dried up all my tears just to keep you dry

I gave you my heart so that yours would be whole
Saved your secrets, fragile and I never told

But now you look at me and ask me what I've done
A shipless sailor, a wrecker, and a prodigal son.

And as I used myself to save the waves from crashing down
Your ship set to sail was bound to founder and run aground

So you tell me it's about time that I began to cry
My tears are not for you, I'd sooner painfully and slowly die

If death is what you wish to set up upon the stage
I will erase you from this world and turn over my lifes page.
