Rooftop

Lay here through the quiet summer storm
You and her are all alone, it feels like the miles have grown.
Will I ever see you again?
The answer remains unknown yet you’re still here.
Even though you’re not there, she can hear your voice.
It soothes her but that doesn’t seem to matter anymore.
Reaching out when she senses you’re unhappy, only for her to be left out in the cold.
She’s out on the rooftop while you take a drag.
You look inside to bid your goodbyes.
When she can’t be found you walk out the door and saw her jump but it was too late.
She can take a hint. She left you alone before you could.
