Loners

A yellow rotten leave lays a pond the ground

Mixing with other rotten leaves

Not the only one rotten but slightly different

With reddish flicks and a large hole on the corner

It stands alone with the group.

Hoping one day that the wind shall carry it away

To a different place, time.

When night comes around

It lies alone

The other leaves disappear into the blackness of the night

But this one stands out and alone..

Reddish flicks shimmer in the middle of the darkness

There’s another different leave from another tree a few yards away

This one with a smaller large hole in the middle of it and a yellowish flecks a pond it

On an early morning The wind picks up and it grabs it into its grip

It floats in the wind.

Swirling, twisting, just floating

Before it hits the ground

Next to all the others

But one stands out… Another different looking one

The one with the Reddish flicks and a large hole at its corner

They lay side by side

Not noticing each other until the night's darkness falls a pond them and they shine together..
