I Won’t Hold My Breath

You’re the type of person,
Who has no compassion,
Has no empathy for others.
You’re ruthless,
And you’re cold,
You care for no one,
But yourself.
You’re as selfish,
As they come.

I don’t think,
You even have,
A heart.
You like to,
Treat everyone around you,
Like the dirt,
That lies beneath your feet.

People say you’ll change,
See the error of your ways,
And change your heartless ways.
But I know you.
I won’t hold my breath,
Waiting for you to be,
A human being.

When people are hurting,
Feeling like they are:
Battered,
Beaten,
Broken,
And torn,
You twist your knife,
In the fresh wound,
That’s how heartless
You can be.

How can you,
Show no compassion,
No remorse,
For every person,
That you tear down?

What did they,
Ever do to you anyway?
Did they not let you,
Push them around?
Did they point out,
Just how truly,
Demonic you are?

I hope,
That one day,
You will feel,
Every single ounce of pain,
That you’ve inflicted,
Onto others.
Tenfold.

Maybe then,
You’ll show human emotion,
And feel remorse.
But I know you.
You’re nothing close,
To human.
So I won’t hold my breath.

But you should try,
Holding yours.
